We stayed in room 24 recently, in the older part of the hotel. Although small, the room has great character to it, was spacious enough (especially for our short stay), and cosy and comfortable. The owners were lovely too. Definitely recommend, and will stay here again

Good place for short term stay. Unit 3 of this hotel is a really good apartment for max. 6pp. Quiet and cheap. Two rooms with three beds (two queen beds and one single bed), two bathrooms and one living room. We went there for ski, as we back to the hotel, the apartment was warmed and well-organised by the hotel... More

We stayed here at the June long weekend. it was perfect for what we were after, somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep. It's pretty basic room and bathroom set up, so if your planning and spending heaps of time in the room maybe pay the extra $ to stay somewhere else. If your just using it as a base to... More

This Hotel has a fantastic location right in the heart of town, but is rather run down and very basic! Its the old adage, you get what you pay for! It was clean enough, but could be soo much better! Having said all that, Wayne was most accommodating and very very helpful.

I stayed here in May 2014, it was exactly what I was looking for , informal , delightful friendly hosts, and so convenient to everything. And rooms were good quality and clean. I took the smallest one #23 , that they advertise as " not big enough to swing a cat in" well there was only me and it was... More

Do not stay here if you are looking for somewhere comfortable and warm. The room was pokey, cold and miserable. Insufficient heating for winter. Fortunately, we were in Bright to cycle so spent minimum time in the room. Although it was a long weekend the room was completely overpriced for type and standard of room given. The power went out... Brilliant location, friendly and helpful staff and excellent value for money. Set your expectations in accordance with the price and you won't be disappointed. Breakfast in the attached cafe was also great.

The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone who prefer to take the VLine train/coach from Melbourne and enjoy the views along the way. It is a short walking distance from the coach drop-off near the clock tower. If you are not driving, you can still take the coach to Beechworth and Myrtleford at minimal cost. Plenty of walking... I have stayed at this place when it was the Oriental. This time it was at the end of a 70 kilometre ride, with lots of pedalling. The booking was stuffed up, asked for twin and they did not have so ended up in an apartment at extra cost to us. Rooms were comfortable and clean and bonus of secure... More

Awesome place with a cool atmosphere, the Cafe made great coffee and the cycling memorabilia was an awesome touch. Room was great and fresh towels at the end of the day was a plus. Only thing I would touch on is some work on the showers they were unpredictable and this isnt what you want after a cold and wet... More
