Stayed one night. Room was fine and bed was comfortable. The room included a microwave and toaster in addition to the normal kettle so we were able to sort ourselves out for breakfast from the supermarket up the road. The only issues were that the fridge was turned off when we checked in and took a while to cool down... More

My partner and I stayed here for 1 night in a Deluxe Double, easy check in, immaculately clean room, high ceilings (so not stuffy feeling). Comfortable bed and new looking bathroom. All in all a fantastic find for only $115 night. Its very close to a number of great places to eat and you can throw a line in at... More

I spent one night here as a solo traveller and enjoyed the modern amenities and the old world atmosphere of this early 20th century building. The bed was very comfortable with a good bedside reading light, and there was a bar fridge and coffee and tea maker and a clean bathroom. My upstairs room opened onto a wide balcony, and... More

We stayed here in a standard room overnight whilst visiting family. Very friendly staff, good location. A little dated but clean and tidy. Our room had an en suite bathroom and all the amenities we needed.

Booked this motel as it had a disabled room and was close to the ferry crossing to the Eyre Peninsula. Stayed twice. Firstly, reception is easier to get to from the carpark at the side rather than walking up all the stairs at front. It would have been appreciated to have been told this before check in. The manager was... More

We found ourselves in Wallaroo for a wedding and chose the Sonbern because of it's proximity to the venue. We had one of the two bedroom self contained units in the car park. While it was fully fitted out with all necessities, it was still fairly basic. A bit more like a cabin in a campground than a motel type... More

Stayed three nights whilst my daughter was at camp at CU @ Wallaroo. Alison at reception was helpful via email with my booking and so friendly when I arrived. She gave me good advice regarding places to eat. The room itself was in the newer motel style units (room 18) and was immaculately clean and had everything I needed. Knowing... More

An interesting place with old world charm. Stayed one night - only ones there. Had an upstairs room with balcony, not that the view is much - disused railway. For one night would have been better in motel room in courtyard to save carrying luggage. Room was comfortable, cooked breakfast good, dining room has lots of books about the town... More

We booked three nights at the Sonbern, following advice from friends. We have a small family so decided to rent one of the outside cottages - essentially, they have put up two plasterboard houses in the car park. Inside is everything you would expect to find - dining table, microwave, small electric kitchenette hobs. A few things for families to... More

Turned up to find our cabin in the hotel car park! Barbecue in the garden was quaint. Clean cabins with everything you need. Not a bad spot hotel wise but Walleroo is pants and wouldn't bother going again.
