We've taken our children to Barossa Junction four times now. Our eldest (now 5) says it's the best holiday place in the world. Yes, the rooms could use some refurbishment, and things are on the whole a trifle shambolic. However, the staff are lovely, the play room is great, the carriages are quaint and it's all up a wonderful spot... More

I wish I had taken my own advice "Take heed of what others have said". I'll start with the positive: The sheets were clean and the water was hot. We stayed as part of a group occupying at least seven units so the following list outlines problems experienced by others as well as us. (We all stayed for 7 nights)... More

The positive: quirky accommodation - it was an experience to turn up in the evening to see a load of old trains and sleep in a converted carriage. Location is great - exactly half way between Tanunda and Nuriootpa on the main road, so very convenient for wine tourism, restaurants etc. The negative: old room was pretty old and grotty.... More

As with many others we purchased travel auction for this motel. A unique experience in converted train carriages that are approx 90 years old. Well located property in heart of Barossa giving easy access to all tourist attractions, wineries etc . Staff are very friendly and meals were good. The vintage train theme continues in the dining area and also... More

We got a deal and the reviews were horrible so we weren't expecting much. The idea is great but the rooms were quite run down and average. We had a buffet dinner and the food was great. Staff were friendly too. If you are on a budget and like trains, this is a good place to go but remember that... More

We bought this package through travel auctions and after reading the reviews thought we were in for a disaster. But it was OK. We went mid March, definitely wouldn't go any earlier in summer as the carriages get very hot and there's no way I could sleep with the noise of the air conditioner. Our room was spotless, new looking... More

I stayed with a group of friends for 3 nights. When booking the rooms I had no idea what to expect but didn't have very high expectations. On arrival I was greater by some cats and the cutest little dog. Upon entering the reception/shop/wine tasting area/cafe/restaurant I was treated by the lovely staff- so friendly and kind. The rooms are... More

We paid for this package through an online auction. We thought a converted railway carriage would be a different experience. It certainly was different, but not always in a good way. Before I go any further, I must point out that the staff could not have been any friendlier. Everyone was so helpful regarding any of our numerous queries. Nothing... More

Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile and after a brief chat with the friendly staff we set off to enter our rooms. The rooms themselves are quite unique and offer a brief insight into the history of the area. The rooms seem very suited to families and/or couples going away for a nice weekend. The bistro/bar serves very... More

My sister and I only went back for a second time because we'd bought 2 vouchers from one of those deal websites. This time we decided to check in as LATE AS POSSIBLE after spending a wonderful day of sightseeing. When we arrived, we were told that there would be a buffet style dinner (last time we had our pick... More
