This was our third stay at Blickinstal and like our previous stays a pleasant, relaxing few days. We make an annual visit to the Barossa and while Sue, who is a wonderful hostess, relaxed and friendly and always willing to help, is at Blickinstal we wouldn't stay anywhere else.. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed given there location... More

We came up to Barossa valley after an 8 hr drive, and felt relaxed right away, the rooms were good, and had all appliances (kitchen DVD etc) that we were after. The morning breakfast was a surprise I expected toast or cereal but not only were they options but the big breakky was amazing!!!! All food Freshly made and my... More

We stayed here based on all of the positive reviews. However, our experience wasn't as positive as others. We found Sue to be a little awkward and tense which came across as rather uninviting. The afternoon tea was a lovely surprise and breakfast was good. The 'loft' room isn't really a loft...it's a bedroom separated from the lounge room by... More

Our second overnight Barossa stay was a little dissapointing given the reviews the property had received. The very attractive property was quite a way out of town and the wineries. Being winter there was a plethora of accomodation possibilities, but we didn't experience the warmth other reviewers had had. The studio was very clean and comfy but dark. Our welcome... More

We arrived last Saturday afternoon and were immediately welcomed with a delicious afternoon tea - homemade fresh out of the oven muffins with real clotted cream ( no cost either all part of a wonderful b& b). Our room was clean spacious and even had complimentary port for us later in the night. Sue cooks a magnificent breakfast - poached... More

We stayed in a spacious studio where everything was spotless, so comfortable and had a beautiful ambience. Sue was a great host - home cooked breakfast was plentiful each day and the freshly baked afternoon teas were a real treat. One afternoon we were unable to be there and she was kind enough to leave it in our studio. Complimentary... More

So glad we were able to get accommodation here. Sue was a wonderful hostess and even cooks homemade afternoon tea for her guests. (how many b&bs do that?) Room absolutely beautiful, clean, comfy, everything you could want and more. The little added extras like port for a nightcap and extra coffees and we wont forget the mints and fantails, didn't... We stayed for my birthday in May and had a lovely time. Rooms are fully equipped including electric blanket which was an added bonus! Our room also had complimentary port, which my Financee loved :) Only downside was the water pressure, the shower was a bit dated and the head sprouted out water. But everything was impeccability clean and fresh.... More

Blickinstal is the perfect example of why we prefer B&Bs to hotels. Sue was very friendly and provided delicious breakfasts with home made bread, jams, eggs from their chickens, the tastiest bacon I've had for a very long time, and a different home made fruit dish each morning of our four-night stay (fruit compote, caramel apples, mixed berries, poached pears,... The rooms are fully equipped motel style accommodation with kitchenettes and most amities you would want. A great country setting with patio and BBQ if you want to cook your own supper and star gaze. The owners were delightful and provided a very nice breakfast in the main house. Wifi is only available in the main building or the patio.
