The description of this place sounded quaint and I love places that have a bit of history. From the outside it looked promising. The carpets are stained and in need of replacing. The interior could use a fresh coat of paint to brighten and make it look fresh. The bathrooms were clean with plenty of light. The restaurant was quaint... More

Olde English style pub accommodation. The rooms are comfortable, ours had a queen bed plus a single. The rooms are located on the first floor with access being by stairway. The bathrooms are conveniently located on the same floor (there are only showers - no bath) as is the lounge area where you can make tea and/or coffee. There is... More

On yet another wet, windy and cool Australian mid-summer's day, we escaped into the Caledonian's bar/restaurant for some lunch. Simply put, the atmoshere was simplistic at best - and the meal pretty well matched that description, too.

What a fantastic place to relax and enjoy life. A beautiful stone building from the 19th century with most of the atmosphere of an Inn preserved. the weather was cold and windy, but sitting by the warm open fire in the front bar sipping on a portagaff was heaven. We dined there for lunch an dinner both cooked well and... More

The caledonian inn could be quite charming if somebody would invest money....nice old house with little rooms.... Matresses are totally crab, no Aircons and even no fan in our room. The reception staff was totally unmotivated, she was running the pub and bottleshop too. Our room supposed to be finished, we got the keys and open the door....it was not... More

The 4 beachside cottages are only meters from the hotel where the (so-called) music and pub noise went on until 1.30am. So if you like to sleep before 1.30 am this isn't the place for you. Added to no curtains on the bedroom therefore you are awake at 6.30am, so perfect for insomniacs. The second story bedrooms face west, so... More

As far as accommodation goes, this makes a great pub. And the patrons of the pub won't let you forget it - with singing (and/or swearing/yelling) going on until late into the night immediately beneath the floor boards which separate your room from the festivities. When I booked this hotel, the rooms looked comfortable in the photos - and visually,... More

This Inn has a very homely feeling about it. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with some nice touches to make you feel welcome. The bathroom is shared, but it's clean and large. The managers are very friendly. Even though the rooms are above the Inn, they are very quiet and peaceful. The location is also great, it's situated on... More

I always feel sad about this pub. It has so much charm and character but the bar area needs a good clean and paint. If the owners spent some money updating the place it would make it feel so much more welcoming and we would visit more often .

very friendly staff and bedroom very comfortable with sea view -just . We knew that we wouldn't have an ensuite and the shower / toilet facilities were clean and plentiful. Quiet at night but we were slightly out of season.A nice sitting area upstairs if you don't want to sit in the bar. breakfast was self service and adequate .... More
