We stayed here in January. Good spot and very well placed for beach and easy walk into centre. Lots of history around the house which had a great feel. We stopped one night and would liked to have stayed longer. It would be a definite choice should we be fortunate to return to Robe.

We stayed in apartment 4 on drive from Melbourne to Adelaide on 15 March 2015. The apartment was wonderfully comfortable and roomy with two nicely appointed bedrooms, a large living room with a nice sized TV with good program options, a kitchen full of modern appliances and cooking utensils and a large bathroom with an excellent shower. The building was... More

Hi Joseph, thanks for your review of Robe House. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay in Robe and Robe House. We are well situated down by the marina, with walks to the Obelisk and cliffs right outside the front door. Thanks again, and I hope we get to meet you again one day. Kind regards, Andrew More

We arrived about 4.0 pm and found the phone which you use to check in. There was a list of names and room numbers and keys in the door. The room was large, very comfortable and the provisions for breakfast were very generous. We never saw the owners as we left at 8.0 am to try and reach Adelaide. I... More

This is the oldest building in Robe and has been furnished to reflect its history but with all modern convenience. It is very close to the township, the different beaches and the little harbour. The breakfast suited us very well and we welcomed the thoughtful touches of fresh fruit, toffees etc. fantastic fish and chips close by. We sat in... More

Quaint/traditionally refurbished to a lovely standard. Situated only 2 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from restaurants and shops. The basic breakfast provided was a lovely touch. A lovely place to stay after driving the Great Ocean Road. Beautiful area - stay longer if you can.

We arrived about 9pm after visiting Mount Gambier and not realising how long it would take us to get to Robe. As we had telephoned beforehand to let the owners know we would be late, they left our apartment key in the safe, which was fine. On inspecting our two-bedroom apartment, we thought the furnishing was old fashioned although it... More

Hi Suzie, thanks for taking the time to review Robe House. We are very proud to own the oldest building in Robe, and as such we take care to maintain the historic nature of the house, some may consider this to be old fashioned, however we like to think of it as maintaining the historic integrity of the building. We... More

Initially quite tricky to find as we weren’t expecting to be staying in a heritage property but what a gem when we found it ~ the first house to be built in Robe. Parking for the four units in a quiet area of town with plenty of walks around for those who enjoy the sea. A telephone station listed the... More

Don’t be one of dozens of guests who write “I wish we had booked more than one night” in the Visitor Guest Book. Robe House, being the first house built in Robe in 1847, is perfectly located for visitors to explore Robe’s history with several kilometres of carefully constructed walking paths along the impressive limestone cliffs around the Lake Butler... An excellent B&B and a great first place to stop on a trip from Adelaide to Melbourne. It seemed a little quirky upon arrival but quickly appreciated it's extremely comfortable environment and lovely garden. Only stayed one night but would have happily stayed longer. Very friendly owners and the place is immaculately maintained. Recommended.
