I cannot imagine a venue like this any where in the world which enables you to stay in a fully equipped period house which you have the run of after 9pm at night. The property has a weird history but for what ever reason is stunning architecturally with wonderful and original fittings (stunning blackwood parquetry), a fully stocked library, a... More

The hall and grounds are amazing, unfortunately we only had time to do the self guided tour and couldn't stay the night. I will definitely stay in Martindale Hall when next in the Clare valley. Dinner seems quite expensive at $130 p/p so you would have to get something special to make it worth it. Also of you stay during... More

Absolutely incredible! My family stopped there on a road trip back from Melbourne and we are so glad we did stop. I have always had a thing for Georgian architecture and it's not often you get to stay in a museum like this! When we arrived we were greeted with tea and snacks in the drawing room before being taken... More

We enjoyed our stay at Martindale Hall. We especially enjoyed our guided tour with Pierre. Dinner was an absolute treat! Pierre and Tracy make you feel welcome and comfortable. It's quite a treat to stay in what truly is a museum. The grounds are lovely.

Recently stayed with a group of people, Tracy and Pierre were very welcoming, the rooms were comfortable and the meals were very enjoyable - stuffed quail was excellent. Pierre gave us a very informative tour of the hall, which is a museum and it's not often that you get to sleep in a museum! There is a lot on display... More

We spent Friday night in the Clare Valley and stayed at the stunning Martindale Hall with four friends. Absolutely breathtaking. The building has been so well preserved and is loved by the current caretakers Pierre and Tracey who make you feel so welcome. We had a tour of the house and Pierre was great at answering all our questions and... More

Recently my wife and I stayed along with 5 other couples We arrived at 3:30pm to allow us time to check in and prepare for the guided tour at 4:30. It was hot (43C) so we were keen to refresh. We were 'not welcome' until 4:30. We had no prior knowledge of this. Martindale Hall is a magnificent building. We... More

Let's face it - this is as close to a Downton Abbey experience most of us will ever get! Adelaide is a lucky city to have this experience less than 2 hours drive away. I'm surprised by one or two of the reviews here - if you are staying here - you are staying in a museum for the evening.... More

Martindale Hall is just a beautiful, gorgeous setting for a murder/mystery weekend. The meals were delightfully cooked by Tracey and we were beautifully looked after by Pierre. It was a truly glorious weekend and we were all so sad to leave. We will go back again and could not recommend the experience highly enough. Thank you Tracey and Pierre.
