My husband and I and two great friends have just returned from Marree. We stayed 3 nights at the Marree Hotel and we enjoyed every minute of our stay including the flight over Lake Eyre. It is a great pub and Maz, Phil and all the staff looked after us in such a friendly way and nothing was too much... More

My husband and myself stayed for 2 nights a week ago and I wish I was back there now! It is a great old pub with lots of character in the bar with the new cows head which looks at you as you walk in to the horse collar mounted on the wall, old photos and museum. We opted to... More

Such a friendly great old fashioned Australian Pub. The Publicans Phil, Maz Turner and staff really know how to make you feel at home. After the long drive from up north the cold beer was worth the drive. I stayed in the original Pub Rooms with a very comfortable bed. Shower and toilets were just down the hall. Rooms with... More

Thank you so much for your kind words Peter. We strive to ensure all of our guests feel at home. It's nice that you enjoyed staying in the original rooms upstairs. Many people enjoy the atmosphere and experience of staying in a two storey stone hotel built in 1883! The view from the verandah is great too as you can... More

This was a second stay at the hotel, and the "new" owners certainly know how to look after people. Four of us had flown in, and after flying over the pub to let them know we had arrived (no mobile reception), Phil came to the airstrip in the Ute with his trusty dog to pick us up. This is a... So lovely that you took the time to comment on Tripadviser, and that you enjoyed your stay with us! Phil and I treat the hotel like our home and welcome all guests as if they are guests into our home. Picking up Travellers from the airstrip is no different and of course Phil can never get away without Bundy our... More

I stayed for one night as i was in town for business. I choose a cabin, out by the pool, which was better than I expected. Bigger room than expected with queen and a single, as well as a little table and chairs. Bathroom was large, and the shower was good. Breakfast was easy - help yourself in the breakfast... More

Hi Alexlh2012, and thank you for posting such a lovely review of our Hotel. We have been receiving some great feedback on our meals so we are really pleased you also enjoyed a meal from our classic Outback menu. We really enjoy people calling in to say hi to Phil or I, or to Andy, our sensational friendly barman. Any... More

We stayed here one night and chose a room on the hotel itself rather then a cabin. Nostalgic!! It's a trip down memory lane up there with creaking wooden floors and historic bathrooms (m & f) down the hall. I've seen inside the cabins which cost $20 more and they are nice and modern. I'd happily return here because of... More

Marree is a real town, albeit a tiny one. We found the pub to be friendly and well run. We paid $140 for a cabin by the pool which included a cereal and toast breakfast. These are spacious and comfortable cabins, not dongas, but they are not self-contained. They have a fridge and tea making as well as a table... More

Hi Daisyclover, Thank you so much for the wonderful review. I thought I'd address your comment on the bathrooms. Of our 28, on-site, en-suite rooms, 10 of them (one of them being the one that you stayed in) are built to accommodate older and disabled guests with restricted movement. The showers are open plan (wet rooms) to help with those... More

The first thing that strikes you about the Marree Hotel is just how busy it is! The Hotel is not far from the back of beyond with a town population struggling to exceed 60, and the hotel is more packed that a Chapel Street bar. It's not surprising though. Marree is the southern gateway to the Birdsville and the Oodnadatta... More
