Stayed at the heritage Marree Hotel for two nights with an outback tour. Rooms are clean and comfortable, you are in the outback so the accommodation while basic is fine for travelers, there is a pool to cool off after the hot days. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the meals good. Staff were very polite and helpful.... More

We drove from William Creek to Marree on the 8th day of our outback drive. We had booked a room in the historical hotel ( shared bathroom). We decided to change it to one of their En-suite cabins. Phil right away took care of check in and gave us a nice cabin in the corner next to the campsite. Don't... More

We recently spent a night at this hotel in a Poolside Unit. From our first contact with Bec we felt very welcome. We stayed here ready to take a scenic flight over Lake Eyre, also booked by Bec. The unit was basic but clean. It was the cuisine that was a big and very appreciative surprise .I can only comment... More

This is a gorgeous, historic hotel. We stayed in hotel room 12 during our overnight visit. This room suited us well as it was right beside the communal toilets / showers. (The individual hotel rooms don't have their own shower / toilet). The hotel room contained a double bed, bunk bed, TV, 2 chairs, bedside table and a cupboard. There... More

Wow what a fantastic place to stay. We where only staying for four nights but ended up staying for five. Phil and Maz are great publicans, Bec is doing a great job and they have the best staff that i have ever found. If you are ever in Marree you must do the flight over Lake Eyre. Matt is a... More

Marree Hotel - Sept 2015, an oasis in the desert and the only pub for miles! Gotta be happy with that! Arrived very warm, very thirsty from a long trip up from down South. Awaiting us was a very cold, very affordable, very wet beer that went down like silk and one just didn't quite do it, so a second... More

From the minute we walked through the front door we knew we were in a special place. First impressions count and we could not have been made feel more welcome. The original station hotel has been tastefully restored and oozes Victorian charm, the modern additions are a lot less charming but enable a wide range of accommodation to be offered... More

This was a place we were very much looking forward to and had booked sometime earlier with the ever helpful Maz via email. By the time we reached it we were quite weary, as most people are, as it stands sentinel on the crossroads of the Strzelecki and Birdsville tracks and the road from the Flinders Ranges. It stands tall... More

Thank you for the great feedback Curly and Me! Phil and I feel very privileged to be the 'caretakers' of this amazing hotel for the time we are here. We both enjoy welcoming guests to our hotel, as we would friends and family into our home. While we don't offer 5 star accommodation, our hope is that the clean, comfortable... More

A great place to start your outback adventure. We stayed 2 nights and went on the Dulkanina Station tour with Darryl and the scenic flight over Lake Eyre. Would recommend these tours. The pub had good meals and beer on tap. No beer on tap up the Oodnadatta track from here. Would come back again and stay.

Daryl Bell, OAM - is one of the best outback cattlemen this country has seen. Daryl is on Dulkaninna Station 84kms from Marree up the Birdsville Track and runs a 'Beyond and Back' Tour. Daryl is sixth generation on the fully organic accredited cattle station. A flight over Lake Eyre is always an awesome experience needed to appreciate the vastness... More

Heading north along the highway we discover this Hotel, and so glad that we do. We were able to camp overnight for no charge (gold coin for showers). We were both really impressed. Site is large and clean- as well as having awesome pub next door! Atmosphere relaxing.

Thank you for your review Andy. The free camping is well utilised, as is the fire ring for campfires on those chillier evenings. We also allow pets for those travelling with their beloved K9's. Often we have travellers leaving their vans or camper trailers at the back of the hotel while they do a Simpson Desert crossing or quick trip... More
