We were fortunate enough to have the Old Telegraph Station over the Easter break. Easy to find and only an hour away from Adelaide, we were absolutly blown away by the place! The huge amount of breakfast goodies offered including food from lots of local growers/suppliers, even a pack of Hot Cross Buns! There's everything you could want in the... More

Wow. Thank you very much for your wonderful review. The original settlers that built the cottage in the 1860s were obviously not tall as witnessed by a couple of lower doorways. Its not an issue for me as I'm only five feet two! I'm glad you enjoyed your experience of Murray Street Vineyards and the local pub. Being central to... More

Amazing last night stay to our holiday in South Australia. Character, clean and well provided for. Hostess answers any queries promptly and you can feel history seeping throught the walls. Breakfast is provided for which is great and the welcome pack of wine and port make you feel right at home as does the stunning back garden. A great place... More

I am glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. We try to uphold the integrity of it's history while still providing the comforts of modern life. We agree it is a great base for a Barossa holiday. More

4 and a half stars is what I would actually give. Everything you need for a visit to the Barossa, and an excellent example of the traditional style of Barossa Valley B and B (very little alternative if you are planning an overnight or longer stay in the region as very few actual hotels). They have thought of everything and... More

Thankyou for taking the time to comment. The bedroom at the front of the cottage has a double layer of glass (a second window inside the first), which keeps any street noise in that room to a minimum. But guests are welcome to sleep in either room to suit their needs. As you noted, the traffic (and you must have... More

We stayed here in September/ October for 10 nights and enjoyed every moment. The house is very well provisioned and everything you could want for a relaxing holiday is provided. It is very well positioned allowing us to visit the Adelaide Hills, the Clare Valley and of course the Barossa itself. Self catering is easy and the BBQ was well... More

I'm glad you found the cottage a great base for your holiday. It is possible to base yourself in the Barossa Valley and visit the other nearby wine areas which are only an hour away by car - Clare Valley to the north and the Adelaide Hills to the south east. Thanks for your recommendation. More

We stayed here in July for four nights. At first when we booked we thought we have to share this place with at least another couple / family. But then we've realised we got the whole place for ourselfes! I don't know where to begin to tell you how great this place is. This is probably the best place we've... More

Thank you very much for your very positive review. You've described the cottage very extensively. The bathroom has heat lamps in the ceiling light fitting, but the size of the room means it can be hard to get it warm. Barossa mornings can get quite chilly in winter. But, as you said, the rest of the cottage has heating and... More

We were three friends travelling through the Barossa valley in june 2014 and stayed in this well presented, lovely bed and breakfast. It is right in the middle of Greenock and close to wineries and other dat trips in the area.... Hahndorf etc . The house is beautifully furnished with a large bathroom and laundry facilities . The breakfast supplies... More

My wife and I have talked about getting away for a romantic weekend for some time and finally did it it! I looked at a number of locations and settled on the Old Telegraph Station. We are absolutely delighted we did! Only twenty minutes drive from where we live so it wasn't too far away. This was a surprise weekend... More

We only stayed here 1 night, but it would have been fabulous if we could have stayed a few more days. We loved that it was located in Greenock - a great location close to a pub, beautiful scenery and some of the best wineries around - away from the busier communities of Kapunda and Nooriutpa. The B&B is well... More

In recent weeks I had the opportunity to visit the wine region north of Adelaide and based the day trips at the quiet little hamlet of Greenock. Situated equidistant between the busier communities of Kapunda and Nooriutpa, Greenock is a jewel serviced by a service station / general store, post office, hairdresser and hotel. Without doubt the gemstone of this... More
