Built in the 80s and probably the queen of the strip in her day - but certainly NOT today. In a fabulous location, nice large rooms but really needs some one to love her and bring her into line with the Coonawarra region and make this a "wow" experience, which it certainly isn't right now. The bathroom in our room had been fully renovated - shower had excellent water temperature control and pressure. Furniture is a little dated, but bed was comfortable and spacious. This was was our third stay at this hotel and we weren't disappointed. The rooms are extremely large and spacious, well appointed, with exposed brickwork and raked ceilings. Chardonnay Lodge is tried and tested (some may say tired) but has a homely quality. Large rooms with brick dominating and high pine ceilings supported by pine furnishings. Only stayed here 1night on a long journey back from Melbourne all looked ok on surface at reception so as tired we booked in for 1 night, room could have been cleaner and desperate for a refit , restaurant also dated and food was only just acceptable however good wine choice stay here again ....no

Accommodation is not exactly plentiful in Coonawarra and Chardonnay Lodge offers a decent enough resting place for an overnight stay.
