Clean. Historical cottages. Good bathroom. Kitchen facilities and best of all an open fire! 2 min walk to the centre of town and places to eat and shops to browse.Good value. BBQ area in centre of group. Room for kids to run around. But thick old stone walls which give character and privacy.

On a recent motorcycle adventure, with numerous days of rain we where wet to the bone. No more camping we need to be dry! Was told by a local to head here. And gladly did, at under $100 a night well worth it, cosy old miners cottages. A box of wood for the open fire was perfect, nice hot showers... More

The cottages were very sparsely decorated and the furniture was dated and worn, the couches had holes in them and burn marks from the wood fire. Heating was inadequate - one small 2 bar heater or light the open fire which then fills the cottage with smoke and only heats the room it is in. There was no television or... More

My friend and I needed a cosy place with kitchen as we cook our own food. These cottages are great, comfy, with fireplace and all cooking utensils. No TV but that is OK! Price very reasonable $90. The reception was friendly and welcoming. The cottages are historic miners homes, very cute. Electric blankets provided, and firewood for a roaring warm... More

No frills accommodation in Burra. Convenient for us en route to ADL from Broken Hill and importantly dog friendly. There are a lot of cottages here so you should be able to find one! right in the centre of town with a large communal area in the centre with BBQ and tables. Nice walk down by the small pond for... I have read previous reviews of this property and those that have been negative seem to be mostly by reviewers who have stayed during winter. Really, what do you expect in a stone cottage in the middle of winter close to the edge of the outback. We had a great four night stay in an authentic miners cottage with the... More

Basic, clean and cheap. Been 3 times now over 10 years. We enjoyed our Honeymoon here in October 2014. If your expecting 5* youll be disappointed. If your want an affordable, comfortable historic stone cottage as a base for your exploration of the region, give it a try.

We were looking for cabin accommodation at the caravan park, and were directed to the cottages. Lady who met me was friendly and helpful. Price I found to be very reasonable. felt like I had stepped back in time when I entered cottage. cottages were cold inside even in November, but the wood supplied made a very comfortable fire and... Paxton Cottages – avoid We and two other couples stayed at the cottages at the end of July 2014. We cannot recommend The Cottages to anyone now and are most embarrassed that we arranged to meet friends there, two couples booked two nights, the other, fortunately, just one. The cottages are indeed basic, as expected, but we were not prepared... More

I am kind giving it 3 stars, as i wouldnt stay at this level of accomodation by choice. Basic is what it is. Outdated is as well, so a one nighter to break up the road trip is all I advise. Just a heads up...there is no food service at this accommodation.
