As a family group of 13, we rented 3 cottages. Of the 3 cottages one had very poor house keeping ie Cottage number 1 Dead flies and dirt in the windows of the kitchen and bathroom. This cottage also had a very bad smell, like blocked drains or something dead. There was no one at the office when I went... More

Old style brick wall cottages. Stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage. Even Though its a 2 bed cottage, 7 people can stay in a cottage. Plenty of room. Need air-conditioner in the rooms. Kitchen hasn't got exhaust fan. Felt good to be in a old school accommodation.

Having driven from Kimba through some very big storms, I filled up in Burra en route to Morgan on the Murray. The road out was barricaded off and a few people in town knew that the road and possibly others would be flooded after huge downpours and hailstorms all day. Not wishing to return to the overpriced motel where I... More

First time in Burra. Ideal place to experience the feeling of early colonial accommodation - open log fire with the smell of burnt wood wafting through the cottage. We couldn't resist lighting the log fire. Very quiet and comfortable beds to make it a perfect stay!

We stayed 1 night in a 2b cottage. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. It had comfy beds with electric blankets, a bonus for the cold night. The open fire while not terribly efficient took the chill off the room, and added to the historical experience. We enjoyed a night off from the tv too. The cottage... More

Clean. Historical cottages. Good bathroom. Kitchen facilities and best of all an open fire! 2 min walk to the centre of town and places to eat and shops to browse.Good value. BBQ area in centre of group. Room for kids to run around. But thick old stone walls which give character and privacy.

On a recent motorcycle adventure, with numerous days of rain we where wet to the bone. No more camping we need to be dry! Was told by a local to head here. And gladly did, at under $100 a night well worth it, cosy old miners cottages. A box of wood for the open fire was perfect, nice hot showers... More

The cottages were very sparsely decorated and the furniture was dated and worn, the couches had holes in them and burn marks from the wood fire. Heating was inadequate - one small 2 bar heater or light the open fire which then fills the cottage with smoke and only heats the room it is in. There was no television or... More

My friend and I needed a cosy place with kitchen as we cook our own food. These cottages are great, comfy, with fireplace and all cooking utensils. No TV but that is OK! Price very reasonable $90. The reception was friendly and welcoming. The cottages are historic miners homes, very cute. Electric blankets provided, and firewood for a roaring warm... More
