Upon check in, I was greeted by a smiling receptionist and was surprised that the motel didn’t have my booking. Luckily, I have saved the confirmation email on my I-phone and showed her a copy of the confirmation booking as proof that my booking existed. Since the motel was full , she has managed to get me a room in... More

We stayed there with a tour group. We had read some bad rewiews and were surprised how nice it was. We had a nice room with views to the sea. The breakfast was good and the people very friendly. It is not a place were ine wiuld stay for long time, but I could have easily stayed one day longer.

There's little to choose from in accommodation on Thursday Island. Rooms are very expensive. We stayed for two nights in the 'lodge', backpacker type accommodation, but too expensive for what you get. It was clean, had a bathroom and a bar fridge. Without competition, you have to take what you get. A few days later after visiting the top of... More

Ordinary by mainland standards but adequate by comparison to alternatives on Thursday Island. Has more charm than their more expensive competitor, which is a nondescript block building. Friendly staff and clean room, though basic. Met my needs.

The Jardine is broken into two sides, the motel and 'the Lodge' side. I stayed in both during this trip. The motel is the new side, with nicer rooms and more modern facilities. Definitely try and stay this side. The Lodge was ok, older and the TV was terrible but it was clean and it was fine for a work... More

When I found out I was going to Thursday Island for a week for work, I googled the accommodation I had been booked into - Jardine Motel. I also read the Trip Advisor reviews and started to worry. Now I am here and whilst I understand other people's comments I am going to write this review from a different point... More

Dirty. Poorly appointed. Run down. To be honest I expected more in a larger centre like T/I. And don't bother with the restaurant/bar if you want a decent meal or drink. They don't seem to have a clue what they're doing and if the kitchen is anything like the rooms (dead flies on the window sills, dirty and broken down... More

The Jardine is a great place to stay but it is showing its age a little. The window rattlers as air conditioners have had their time. Time for at least split systems. The room though was clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a good place to eat one of your nights while on Thursday Island.

I stayed here six years ago and it was very nice. It is obvious that not a cent has been spent here six. My room had mouldy ceilings and it is was in desperate need of a paint. I had to ask to be moved from another room as the old box type airconditioning was so lnoisy I could not... More

Clean and tidy motel we guess that is all you get. We stayed in the "other motel" they sent us too down the road which was average at best. Still the room was clean and tidy ,good shower, etc. This last room available ,allegedly, and the rate reflected it ,so don't gasp when they quote you a rate. The staff are pleasant... More
