My husband and I stayed here for 1 night on our road trip from North Queensland. It was a last minute decision to stay in 1770 but after the beautiful meal next door at the pub we wanted to stay. Luckily there was a vacancy for our last minute decision and the owner was lovely and very helpful. The "shack"... More

The photos can't capture the brilliance - open air, gorgeous little shacks look over an ocean stretch. Service was warm and welcoming - Vicky was lovely and helpful. Restaurants close by, modern kitchens and bathrooms, we didn't want to leave! Will definitely be back.

Ideal location with river/beach accessible over the road. Comfortable relaxing apartment. With open slatted windows (no fly screens) mozzies can be a problem. Main bed had full net over which worked well but second bedroom and beds did not.

Great that you enjoyed our beachfront location. The push out timber shutter windows in the bedrooms were utilized for their authentic tropical design inkeeping with the theme, and to capture breezes and be able to be left open when raining if desired. Very sorry to hear the mosquitoes were a problem. We do supply plug in mosquito repelling devices all... More

Amazing place. Comfortable, affordable, friendly and beautiful setting looking out across the water from any spot (except the bathroom LOL) in the entire condo. The only thing that would have made it better is if we had more time. Next time will make sure we have extra time there.

We stumbled upon the Beach Shacks while doing some research into 1770. We'd heard rave reviews about the town and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Dave and Jan were very helpful in accommodating our booking and Vicki was super helpful on arrival and throughout our stay. We couldn't fault this place. We stayed in the Tree... More

The owner was very welcoming, friendly and customer focused who provided local insight on many local attractions. Great service. Prices are reasonable and affordable. The room was very comfortable and the amazing view from our large balcony was just paradise. The towns of 1770 and Agnes water are in a beautiful part of the world and well worth a visit!... More

Now this was one out of the box. Virtual beachfront accomodation, magnificent views no matter which shack you book and Dave is one of the more helpful, pleasant managers you will come across. The laziness of reading a good book while lying on the balcony hammock cannot be underestimated. If I had to be critical, if I have sat on... More

We decided to stay in 1770 as a way of accessing the great barrier reef. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to go to Lady Musgrave. So we spent 4 days in 1770. Out stay centered around the "shack'. We were lucky in that we stayed in the treehouse which is the highest lodge with spectacular panoramic views of... More

Such a shame you couldn't get to Lady Musgrave Island but sounds like you made the most of your stay. We love hearing how much you appreciated everything our area has to offer. The bird life is amazing and those sunsets do take your breath away sometimes. Thank you for staying at our 'Shacks'. Kind regards, David and Jan More

Loved this place. 1770 is a small town but if you love the water and nature it's wonderful - paddle boards, kayaks, surfing, boating and access to the reef. What more could you want - a comfortable gorgeous self contained place to stay with the best view from a bed ever. Fantastic location, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and did... More

Stayed in the tree house right up the top, awesome view over the 1770 inlet. Rooms were nice and airy, clean and comfortable. Value for money was fair and really enjoyed our stay. Right next door to the pub which served good meals. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend 1770 beach shacks for a couple wanting to get away from it... More
