We just stayed here one night, but really liked it. They have meal deals every night for dinner and free pancakes for breakfast if you wake up at 7! We relaxed in hammocks just by the pool, reading and escaping the sun. The hostel grounds are very charming and green. The rooms are spacious and clean, with their own bathroom... More

We had to spend more time at Dingos than we had wanted, total of 3 nights before Frasers and 1 after. Many people had written bad reviews and we had heard bad things about Dingos and, up until now avoided party hostels like the plague, so we headed there with nervous trepidation. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were... More

I stayed here before going to Fraser's Island. I had a lovely time while staying here. The staff were always friendly when I had any questions. The rooms were very clean and tidy. They had burritos for $6 so it was a nice change from always having to cook while traveling. It's in a great location close to the beach... More

This is it! What a phenomenal setup they have here. The hostel itself is a pretty basic place to stay, but you're likely only going to be there for 2 nights (1 before your trip and 1 after it). What sets this place apart are the tours to Fraser Island. Out of this world!

Something I really dislike in hostels, is the private bathroom in a shared room. It is dirtier than usual common toilets in hostels. I stayed in a 8 share and often I had to wait to shower while this does not happen in hostels where there are many common restrooms. I appreciated the common sink and table in the room... More

Stayed here before and after a trip to Frazier Island . Did a package tour where you get put into groups and sent off for a week on a remote island. The group I was with all got on and helped each other camp / cook / wash and stay safe. Was the ultimate bonding experience and you have your... More

Stayed here for our Fraser Island tour which Dingos are associated with (which I think is the Rainbow Beach Adventure Company) hostel isn't new or modern but rooms were clean with an en suite and ok beds from what I remember. Lady who greeted us didn't have very good English which was a challenge for others with English not being... More

The rooms were ok, but the kitchen, pool and tables were dirty, crowded and ill equipped. The atmosphere was the worst of all, the staff didn't have any control or authority over the backpackers. People were playing music and screaming at 2 in the morning, running in and out of the rooms and leaving everything messy. 70% drunken brits and... More

I had first heard about Dingos Backpackers and Fraser island tour from the information centre in Byron bay. It was sold to me as an amazing tour, perfect for young solo backpackers, but it was better. I arrived at Dingos Backpackers on the Thursday not knowing a single soul there, but by that evening I was on stage singing my... More

Very nice hostel, 300 m far from rainbow beach. You can book whichever tour to fraser island and they seem to be really well organised with briefings and meeting point directly into the hostel. The bedrooms are spacious and clean, with a private bathroom each. Free pancakes breakfast every morning at 7am, and every night a different meal for a... More
