I give this place a 9/10. Our forth stay here was for our wedding in October 2014. We stayed in a one bedroom surfside villa. The villa was fantastic, and only a short walk to the beach, and a step away from one of the four pools. There is nothing like falling asleep to the sound of waves. It was... More

We stayed for 2 nights during Australia day weekend 2015 We got to our room to find that the floor was that dirty we had to sweep it before we moved in. Mould all over curtains, blinds and also the couch. windows were that dirty you couldn't see the nice view out of them, dryer had so much lint in... More

Stayed for two nights in a 1 bedroom surf side villa. It was the perfect size for a couple. 3 levels of stairs so you need to be mobile to go up and down the levels. Level 1 entry, Level 2 kitchen/dinning and lounge area with a good sized balcony, Level 3 has bedroom, bathroom and laundry. Lovely views and... More

Thanks for your review Jo L - we are new resort management late last year and maintenance issues are being addressed to ensure some of the observations made are addressed. It is great location with a beautiful beach and appreciate your feed back. More

Have just spent 4 days 3 nights here, very pleasant surroundings and the rooms were clean and spacious, didn't get to see all that was available at the resort, the bar prices for drinks were not over the top and the bar staff were always pleasant, we had the buffet breakfast on the 2nd morning, for the price asked it... Thanks swampy for your review. Ee have addressed the buffet breakfasts which are available outside of school holidays on a Saturday & Sunday at $15 per person. New presentation now including yoghurt, fresh fruit options, chipolata sausages, poached eggs, bacon, hash browns, tomato, baked beans or spaghetti, fresh cooked mushrooms, assorted breads and condiments. We have a new chef and... More

Originally the reason we stayed was the price but now we stay cause the kids love it. The units that we stayed in overlooked the tennis courts. There are some that look a lot older and we haven't stayed in those so I can't comment on them. Anyway the unit block we stay in is good. The bathroom is modern... More

Thanks CindyW for your review. New resort management took over from Mantra late last year and we are going down the route of being kids friendly with revamped menus where in many instances kids eat free. Glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you again to the resort when you next travel to Rainbow Shores. More

We stayed for the weekend the last of August. Quiet, relaxing, perfect recovery stay. The kids loved the upstairs bedrooms, though I could see some families would be wary of the stairs. The beach access was the best I found, a bush track as it should be. The only critique I would have is for the restaurant. The food was... More

Thanks for your review Toni S. there is ew resort management in place and no longer a Mantra property. We agree with your comments regarding children's meals and they have been revamped with our new chef and team. Kid now eat free in the resort off the a la carte and buffet menus and we use fresh produce locally sourced... More

The resort is getting old and the units reflect that, however, they are clean and well maintained. We had a top floor unit #16 (3 floors up no lift) at the end of the block overlooking the bush which was great for sitting on the good sized balcony. The appliances were in good condition with a washer and dryer in... More

Located a short stroll from Rainbow Beach and a stop off access point to the Inskip Peninsular and Fraser Island, this resort has something for most families. The apartments have a full size kitchen with a dishwasher, an adequate bathroom and plenty of cupboard space in the bedroom. The bed is comfortable, but needed better pillows. We took our own,... Our apartment, No. 40 in the Baden block, is badly in need of a spruce up. Furniture was dated and heavily marked with scratches, dents and rings from glasses and plates; we looked for coasters and placemats to avoid causing further damage but couldn't find any - which explains the other damage. We were paying what we thought was a... More

We have stayed at this resort before and enjoyed it very much, although we did strike a kids surfing competition one weekend and the resort was very crowded and the weather indifferent and not ideal for sightseeing. Having read some pretty ordinary reviews of the resort on Trip Advisor recently we thought it was time to form our own conclusions.... More
