We booked our Australia Day weekend stay in Rainbow Beach at the last minute and as such, were happy to take anything that was available, even though we knew it would be fairly basic. Luckily for us there was one vacant cabin for the three weary travellers who were very thankful for it. Sadly, it had no air conditioning, which... More

Stayed overnight here and was not let down by the name of the area .. saw a number of rainbows. This is the second time we visited this area .. had to come back as it was so pretty. The cabin we stayed in was very old but clean and reasonable with a fan. We were asked about using these... More

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin with AC and a one bedroom without AC and it was very clean and tidy. A little hot in one bedroom cabin without AC. Friendly staff and great entertainment for kids including movies in TV room, games room, playground and ti-dying activity which was great fun. Tiny sandflies were annoying but just used... More

Stayed on the unpowered section of the park in our caravan. Absolutely loved it. Yes....if you forget to spray especially after swimming you will get bit from the midgies but keep up the spray and we were fine. We stayed over the xmas/new year period and still had plenty of room. The amenities were good, there was a mop and... More

We went to this park Easter 2014, after going to this park for the past 8 years at Easter. We have always arrived late on the Thursday before Easter and it has never been a problem. When we arrived at 7 pm we were told we couldn't set up we were told we had to sleep in our car outside... More

Avoid cabins A, B, C and D, they are very old, not insulated, dirty and too hot... Not AC and the fan is not enough. Also, those cabins are so old and looked never been renovated. The owner should invest some money in renovation of those, they are too hot, it's been a torture sleeping in there.

Recently stayed four nights at this caravan park. The sites are large and shady and the park is massive. Toilets and showers were adequate but not kept very clean. The midges/sandflys were not as bad as some reviews have made out but you will definitley need some form of protection, particularly after dusk. Keep your screens closed at all times!!... More

When we arrived we asked for a tent site. Because you cant access them with a car we were told to buy an powered site which of course is much more expensive. After the first night a man came to our site and yelled at us to put down our tent immediately otherwise we have to leave. We could not... More

We just got back from Rainbow Beach where we stayed at Rainbow Waters Caravan Park for three nights. As we had our three grandkids with us, I was concerned about the threat of sand flies and midges - but there were none. Among the six of us, we only got a couple of small bites from something but no problems.... More
