I only stayed here one night on my trip around Australia. Very relaxed and enjoyable environment. Pretty sure they had free wifi. Would stay here again if I ever went back. Walking distance to the beach and you can easily hitch a ride to the Town of Seventeen Seventy (I opted to walk)

A great hostel in the quiet town of Agnes Water in Eastern Australia. The friendly staff can and will help you out with almost anything from getting the best local deals on trips to just hanging around the campfire. The overall mentality truely is 'No Worries' with plenty of hammocks and a chill clean common room. The kitchen and bedrooms... More

I stayed here for only one night (breaking up the journey from Rainbow Beach to Airlie Beach) in an 8 bed dorm. The whole place is kept very clean and has everything you'd want from a hostel. I had very little interaction with the staff so can't really comment on the service here. The cheap dinners on an evening were... More

Strange, strange place. The cleanest and best facilities of any hostel up the east coast, but this is because the owner is OCD and a clean freak. The kitchen is closed four times a day, whenever he decides he fancies a clean and the common room is also closed in the middle of the day, even if it's pouring with... More

Had a lovely stay at cool bananas, the staff were friendly and helpful and made you feel very welcome when arrived. Even though other reviews talk about Greg the manager being crazy, I don't think this place would be quite the same without him! What a character. Lovely and clean, clean the kitchen 3 times a day and have staff... More

A group of us (4) stayed here for 2 nights an I was sad I leave. It's the nicest hostel I stayed in during my 2 years in Australia. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm. The place is laid back, we weren't even given a key for the bedroom but I felt pretty safe and it was super super... More

Cool bananas was one of the nicest hostels I stayed in during my Australia trip. I stayed for a total of 4 nights in a female dorm. The dorm room was spacious and beds comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and all common areas were kept exceptionally clean. There was a large indoor lounge area and outside common area which... More

The owner, kept on wandering around the place with a grumpy face. speaking super loud and trying to educate all the backpackers. really couldn't stay in the lobby when he was there. I wish he will read this and understand he is the only reason I didn't like the hostel. apart from that, the facility was great. nice dinners for... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed here during an east coast trip.. Hostel was small and cosy however the major thing that let it down was the fact to dorm rooms did not lock and there was no safe to keep any valuables! Which was a massive downside as we both had iPads mobile phones etc. so couldn't really leave anything... More
