We came here 7 years ago and really loved the place so we decided to come back. Unfortunately there has been a lot of changes. It's run down, crappy and designed for backpackers and cashed up mining bogans from Gladstone. If you have a young family it is far from a good environment for kids. We heard nothing but belching,... We were given apartment 10 for the advertised price however it was not clean-cooking smells, grease in kitchen and stains on sofas, dirty floor etc. very run down. I booked a two bedroom apartment for 5 people. We got to Agnes Palms late in the evening and discovered that their two bedroom apartments were booked out. Instead we were put in two separate rooms. It was basically a backpacker accommodation, very basic and not very clean. The rooms were small and air-conditioner was rather loud. We paid $170... More

We stayed in a studio style motel room. Clean and modern with large fridge and adjacent car parking. We were there on a quiet night so backpacker party noise was not heard. Would certainly stay here again.

BUT,The main purpose of an hostel is to sleep and i was in room with 6 australians guys. They smoked weed and spoke really loudly all night long until 6 or 7 am, i told them several times that... I would recommend this venue to anyone. It caters to everyone and is very affordable. You have a diverse group of people staying there -- backpackers, family travelers, singles, couples, etc. There is free continental breakfast daily and also fresh milk available daily. There is a common area which is well stocked with cooking utensils so you can cook your... More

The guy who met us could not have been more helpful. The first two rooms were, we thought, substandard and in desperate need of a facelift. We eventually settled for one of the eight separate units. This was still cheaper than other place but was much better finished and maintained than the other rooms. We were also further away from... More

I stayed at the backpackers for 2 weeks whilst enjoying all of the local attractions in Agnes Waters. The rooms were cleaned every day and the facilities were great with breakfast thrown in for free! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the place had a very welcoming atmosphere. My friends took a budget room as they were a... More
