Me and partner stayed one night here and although our stay was reasonabley okay it was not until I returned back to the UK that we had a serious problem with this hostel. I had incured a charge of over $100 on my credit card which I gave to them as only a security deposit. After attempting to contact the... More

I am sorry that you feel that you were charged unfairly but the vouchers you used for your stay could not be redeemed as you had already used them for a stay at another hostel. We contacted Nomads directly and they told us that you had you had used up all your vouchers and that we would need to charge... More

Me and my travelling buddy both thought this was one of our best hostels we had stayed in. Wifi was free, which did work well. Breakfast was also free, porridge and 2 slices of toast. Tea and coffee free all day. Shuttle bus into town running throughout the day for free. Upon arrival they carried our bags for us to... More

Worth it if you have your own car, since its a bit out of town. They do have a shuttle but it doesn't often enough IMO. They're plenty of facilities, like free WiFi, TV where you can watch movies (free), etc. It was low season so the place was pretty empty. As we where pacing through, this was fine for... More

Thanks for your review guys. We do run our free shuttles to town every two hours and as the town is so small most people only go in once a day anyway. If we ran our buses every hour, a lot of our shuttles would be empty. In saying that it's only a 1.8 klm walk and some of guests... More

After a pretty disastrous experience at cool bananas we decided to move on to nomads and it was a brilliant choice. It was such an amazing hostel with so many facilities. We stayed in our camper in a beautiful spot with lots of space, we rented dvds for free which was brilliant for us as it was quite a chilled... More

I chose this hostel because it has good reviews, but, really I dont understand why... mattresses are horrible, rooms dirty, bathroom... what can I say ? If you are "lucky", you have your "own", otherwise you have the common bathroom with unisex shower and where you'd rather like to pee/poo in a group... live in community should have some limits... Big rooms, big toilets, clean kitchen area and friendly stuff. A bit far from town but shuttle buses run frequently enough. You have swimming pool, pool, table tennis and different activities like yoga or workouts. Free wifi and movies as well.

Stayed at Southern Cross for 2 nights in a private double - very pleased we chose to stay here. Regular free shuttle bus into town and also gets you to the bus stop in plenty of time, the crew working here are all very friendly and seem to enjoy their job. Free breakfast and free WiFi, both were as described... More

Not very impressed by this hostel... Most of the people staying here are working here and don't seem to know what they are doing or bothered about helping you. I was on a late bus and the kitchen closed whilst I was asleep and they wanted to charge me $20 to get into the kitchen! So I have no food... More

Thank you for your review. Obviously you have come on the premier bus to our remote location. The most beautiful places in our huge country are located in remote places. You chose the cheapest option of travel ie: Premier bus lines,so there will be times during the thousands of kilometers you travel, you will be dropped off in the middle... More

I arrived by 9 in the morning (from the Greyhound bus) and was tired but the lovely staff took care of my luggage and knew already who I was so I had no trouble checking-in. The hostel itself is lovely as well it's quite remote but the shuttle runs frequently and it's quiet so you can enjoy a good night... More

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are family built and family owned and are so often told by our guests that they can see the love that has been put into this place. After a long through the night bus my boyfriend and myself were glad we booked a stop off. We were even happier to spend two nights in the tranquil town of Agnes Water after a week in Airlie Beach and we could not have picked a better hostel then Southern Cross. The hostel is situated on a large piece of... More
