Stayed at this hostel on my travels along the Australian east coast and highly recommend it. The whole property with its beautiful little cabins reminded me a lot of the accommodations on the south pacific islands like Fiji. Maximum of 6 beds in a dorm, but they have 4 bed dorms and doubles as well, I think. Staff is helpful... More

Wow! What a gem! First off, Agnes Water is a treasure of it's own. It has everything you need, and the cheapest surf lessons I've seen along the east coast. The hostel is located about 5 min drive outside of town, but they do have a complimentary shuttle service that runs around every two hours. We were greeted with very... More

Firstly we arrived to find our room was full of mosquitoes, and no surprise because our room didn't have a mosquito net by the door. This wouldn't have mattered if you could sleep with the door closed, but the room had one one fan on the ceiling with did absolutely nothing. Along with this, not one room in the hostel... More

Lovely backpackers, in nice cabins like a holiday park, only 6 beds to a room which is good, is situated in lovely kept grounds, with a pond area with large green, most rooms were en suite, kitchen was an ok size but was kept clean and dishes were always washed up and put away, also with a separate bbq hut... We booked what was suppose to be a private room for 2 people. The room looked more like a 4 person dorm room. The private bathroom was filthy, the sink all had old spat out tooth paste in it, the toilet stunk and got was covered in dead bugs. After a long day on the car all I wanted was... More

Sounds to me as though the double room was double booked when you stayed. Unfortunately this happens from time to time during the silly season. You would have been given an option to stay in a 4 bed dorm with an ensuite on your own or upgraded to the family room which consists of a double bed and a set... More

Avoid this place! Horrible hostel. Bad service, no cleaning and staff that did not care at all. The hostel is a few km away from Agnes Water and you have to rely on the hours of the hostels minibuss to get to the city center. No public transportation.

I find your review very suspicious. Firstly you state that you stayed here in February 2014, almost a year ago. May I inform you that our hostel won the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for the years 2013 and 2014, the only hostel in Agnes Water to achieve this. Also I notice that you have only ever written one review.... More

Grounds looked OK on arrival but the check in staff could have been more helpfull. They couldn't find our booking and didn't handle problems at all well. The cabin looked good from the outside - inside the fan only worked on one speed (slow) it was a hot night. The bunk bed I was in, was broken and the pillow... More

Thanks for your review. Obviously, Just Passing Through means that you were only here for one night. Such a shame as you totally missed out on the amazing vibes that this hostel and our beautiful town has to offer. We have the most beautiful pristine beaches, national parks and also the most well preserved, Southern tip of the Great Barrier... More

Haven't a bad word to say about this place. The staff were the best I've experienced in oz so far. Really helpful and always friendly. I Loved the setting and atmosphere here. It is located a few mins drive outside of the main town but the hostel runs a shuttle bus every 2 hours free of charge so this didnt... More

Thank you so much for your lovely review. You are obviously a true backpacker enjoying the real backpacker experience. You totally got it !!!! We have worked long and hard to create this hostel and have transformed it from a scrubby bush block into what you see today. We often are told..."you can see and feel the love that has... More

I have to give points to the hostel for trying to get people in to party but it didn't work. It was a nice enough place to stay except for the mozzies. Could be cleaner. Everyone I met was cool. Had an overall good couple of nights here.

Thanks your review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay here. So sorry about New Years Eve. I tried to organize for the free pub shuttle so many times that night......as u can imagine, it was very hectic. Totally agree with you about the Mozzies. With the rain and the high humidity they have been totally crazy. My Mum... More
