This is an example of the worst of Northern Territory tourism. We arrived here towing our caravan & requested a powered site. For $27.50 we were told to drive around the back where the powered sites were. Having duly done so I found that the only site left under the shady trees was in the wrong alignment for the entry... Stayed for one night here in family room. Old mismatched and dingy and bathroom was so disgusting I showered with flip flops on. Campsite looked nice but room 12a was a disgrace. At least the bed linen was clean though.

We are first time campers (or vaners) in our hired motorhome. Drove from Katherine which was a mystical drive through the rugged landscape through Victoria River with vibrant colours and saw our first wild flock of Red Tail Black Cuckatoos (approx 50) arriving at Timber Creek around 4pm to a fantastic shady and picturesque camp ground. Was only going to... More

We stayed here for just one night en route between Katherine and Kununurra. To clarify, we stayed in the motel attached to Fogarty's Store - it is confusing as there are two places offering accommodation/camping/caravanning right next to each other. It took a few attempts to find a room which had the specified kettle, fridge and microwave, but the girl... More

Arrive at 6:00pm enter the so called restaurant in its 60's decor, ordered tea it took over an hour to come out. Wife & I were almost ready to leave when the meals arrived, the steak I ordered was to be well done, it was well & truly well done, couldnt eat it, it was so dry. Grounds are covered... More

I stayed there on 30 April 2012. I previously stayed there in 2008 and slept in a donger room which was pretty awful but I was pleasantly surprised when we got a motel room for $110. The room was quite nice. The air conditioner worked lovely and the nearby creek had its own crocodiles which I enjoyed photographing. I did... More

We didn't expect anything when we stopped here on our tour to Darwin. We only paid 12,50 for our unpowered site, so we set up our van on the shady grass. It was really quiet and we enjoyed the campground and simple facilities. Everything was clean even though it was simple. You can buy hot food in the convenience store... More

This place needs some updating. The cabins are really old and falling apart and things just aren't being maintained or fixed. It's comfortable enough to crash here at the end of a long day but I wouldn't stay here to relax much.

Rooms in the 'dongas were tiny, ill equipped and in poor repair. The price of $65 was not justifiable. The men's toilet facilites nearest the main shop were dirty, with "not working" signs predominating together with broken and lifting tiles on the floors. No prison would offer accommodation as bad as this.

We stopped in Timber Creek in order to do a nature cruise on the Victoria River (we saw over a dozen salties on the river!) Timber Creek is not really a town, more of a large roadhouse. All that is there is a petrol station, the hotel with a caravan park round back, a wee grocery story, the staging point... More
