We had planned to stay 2 nights at the park. Drove in and out again. It looks runs down and not inviting. Dry and not much shade. Can not understand all the good reviews. Turned around to find another park down the road.

Very friendly staff who are very knowledgeable in the surrounding areas and offer you an over view of the area. Being only a short walk away from Bitter Springs Hot Springs was great. The springs are in a natural setting and be sure to take the pool noodle provided to you by the Park as you are able to float... More

We had a cabin here for 2 nights, it was clean, comfortable, had all the things we needed to cook. The TV worked just fine, great shower. The attention to detail was evident, these owners care about their park. The cabins also had noodles that we could use at the Bitter Springs thermal pools. Our cabin had a carport, clothes... More

We stopped here for one night in a powered site on the way north to Darwin and were very pleased with our choice. The site is large and has stacks of shady well spaced sites both powered and non powered. Did not see the cabins hence cannot comment on them. Glenys greeted us with a smile and was super friendly... A well set out park with clean amenities. Friendly staff, office sells ice cream to caravan supplies. The park has a little resident of a pretty face wallaby, who might we say is very cheeky. Also the bitter springs are so close to the park just a short stroll down the road.

Stayed on a powered site in our caravan at Mataranka Cabins & Camping. The grounds are in a great location, a ten minute walk to Bitter Springs, and a 5 minute walk to the boat ramp on Little Roper River. Stayed in September for 3 nights and the park was fairly quiet. The amenities are A1, a series of smaller... More

We came for a day and stayed for 5. We had a great spot amongst the palms and pandanus on a very secluded powered site. Easy bike ride or walk down to Bitter Springs which is a fantastic swim down the stream amongst a natural bush setting. Great amenities block with separate cubicals with a shower, wash basin and toilet.... More

We stayed overnight on the recommendation of friends who were very impressed by the pools. The cabins have seen better days and the fixtures were average at best. Mouldy bathroom, the flooring was potty and the furnishings old and poor quality, not enough blankets for a family when temps get low. On the plus side the thermal pools are lovely... More

A clean, shady caravan park with very good facilities. It is close to Bitter Springs warm pool which is a great spot. Sites are not grassed but this is Central Australia. Efficient check in a high standard of cleanliness and reasonable cost. (Except for gas refills)
