A well set out park with clean amenities. Friendly staff, office sells ice cream to caravan supplies. The park has a little resident of a pretty face wallaby, who might we say is very cheeky. Also the bitter springs are so close to the park just a short stroll down the road.

Stayed on a powered site in our caravan at Mataranka Cabins & Camping. The grounds are in a great location, a ten minute walk to Bitter Springs, and a 5 minute walk to the boat ramp on Little Roper River. Stayed in September for 3 nights and the park was fairly quiet. The amenities are A1, a series of smaller... More

We came for a day and stayed for 5. We had a great spot amongst the palms and pandanus on a very secluded powered site. Easy bike ride or walk down to Bitter Springs which is a fantastic swim down the stream amongst a natural bush setting. Great amenities block with separate cubicals with a shower, wash basin and toilet.... More

have only been camping here so not sure about the cabins. camp sites are good with some having a bush setting (my favourite). Basic kiosk shop but has ice and ice creams. Camp kitchen has the usual stove, sink, microwave, kettle etc. they provide noodles for use at bitter springs. They also allow pets

We stayed overnight on the recommendation of friends who were very impressed by the pools. The cabins have seen better days and the fixtures were average at best. Mouldy bathroom, the flooring was potty and the furnishings old and poor quality, not enough blankets for a family when temps get low. On the plus side the thermal pools are lovely... More

A clean, shady caravan park with very good facilities. It is close to Bitter Springs warm pool which is a great spot. Sites are not grassed but this is Central Australia. Efficient check in a high standard of cleanliness and reasonable cost. (Except for gas refills)

People sometimes get confused, but this caravan site is the closest and easy walking distance to Bitter Springs. Amenities are good with shower and toilet unisex combo type. Sites are quite spacious, pick your own site. The owners are very friendly and helpful, noodles are available for hire for a small fee. Powered sites were difficult to find, but the... More

Well sign-posted from the highway - turn off in the middle of town. We had a powered site. The park is close to Bitter Springs for a swim - which was about 10 mins walk from the park. Very basic showers and toilets but good camp kitchen.

As two couples travelling together we had two cabins and we were all very comfortable. The cabins had air con and full size fridge and were very clean and bright. The bathrooms were clean and a good size for a cabin. The Bitter Springs thermal pool is not far to walk but the cabins are probably the furthest point in... More
