Our 3 night stay at he William Wakeham was definitely a highlight of our visit to the Gaspe! We arrived after dark rather tired to be met by an extremely accommodating innkeeper, Desmond Ogden and were welcomed warmly. Mr. Ogden even offered to carry our bags up as one of us was not well! He presented us with a choice... More

One night in Gaspe, a few historic houses, one of them la maison William Wakeham. Our room, the Perchard was rather historic in the less positive sense. Small, old, dark, hot (the only window that opened with some help from staff was in the bathroom ) not much of a view. Not overtly clean either, with the smell of a... More

Got to the hotel to find out that they "claimed" to have not checked their email to see that we had booked through bookings.com, and had given away our room. We had booked a room with a sea view, jacuzzi and was suppose to be spacious. We asked to see the room that they were offering instead of the room... More

The rooms were nice and clean. The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Inn is full of history and beautiful antiques. I would stay here again. Gaspe is such a beautiful place.

We arrived at 8pm and found that they did not have our booking.com reservation. I showed them my reservation paperwork, and they did find us a room, although not the room we had selected. We stayed in La Perchard. It was very charming, but had no air flow and no view. Like some others have mentioned, the only source of... More

Spent 2 nights here exploring the Gaspe peninsula. On balance I enjoyed the stay. This is an old and characterful property and being an auberge it presented a nice contrast to some of the purpose-built, chain hotels we'd stayed in during this holiday in Canada. Our room (La Davies) was okay but not particularly inspiring - aspects of it made... More

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the William Wakeham as part of a "road trip" around the Gaspe. Our stay here was a highlight thanks to the ambience, food and service. We stayed in the "Romantique" room on the front of the hotel with a view of the river. The room was an excellent size (we were not... More

This May we had the pleasure of welcoming family from away in order to attending my daughter's baptism. Once again Maison William Wakeham, with Desmond and his staff, was at the top of the "places to stay while you're here" list. Mr Ogden was gracious in accepting the reservation, flexible in it's relative last minute date changes and personally ensured... More

Another visit to this charming, gracious inn. The owner and chef extraordinaire, Desmond, goes out of his way to make you feel at home. His meals are delicious and the seafood is divine! The rooms are cozy and comfortable.

When we booked, there were not that many rooms left available and got the "David"room. It was roomy but had no views. As it was humid we put on the airconditioning unit which was in the window to discover that it was very noisy. The bed was not comfortable but it was just a one night stay. It was very... More
