I stayed in one of the hostel rooms over the first May bank holiday, and it was exactly what I'd hoped. The room was clean, the bed comfy and I was very impressed with the bathroom, you don't normally get such high standards for a hostel room. The staff were all very friendly and made me feel welcome. I hired... More

It's the best. Perfect location outside Croyde, hot showers and the best surf school on site (Lyndon Wake/Surfing Croyde Bay). Cannot recommend it more. For the price you will not find anything that comes close. Even the cat is class.. I kind of didn't want to write this because it's nice it's so non commercial, but then saw some reviews... More

Thank you for your review Queen P, Thanks for putting folks straight. The Lodge & Cafe is in part of my home in which we aim share our lives in a posh end Surf Lodge & Café, not a run of the mill B&B and Café. Mike x More

Only stopped for a breakfast so will only score based on what i paid for. Obviously spent some money on interior & outside space, which has some great views over the bay. Service friendly Cooked breakfast was priced at a reasonable £5.95 - good sausage & bacon although toast would be a welcome addition. Coffee was nice enough but the... More

Thanks for your review ItchyFeetiow, We do offer toast, but it is extra - we have found over the years that this is the most popular way. You are not the first person to mention the cost of our coffee. I drink coffee in London a lot and in my experience we are in the right ball park. Few places... More

Rooms – we stayed at one of the doorm rooms that was not bigger than my wardrobe. I am not even sure if it’s legal to rent that size of a space for 3 people. The image impression from the website did not give away the room size. We struggled to get dressed or get changed being at the same... More

Thanks for your review Irena, However, I don't really think you get what we are about and have taken things far too seriously. Yes the bunk rooms are small - they are for sleeping in, not for preparing for the Ball. This is Devon, you really do not need to lock your doors, apart from stopping passing public from using... Really enjoyed 3 nights at Baggy's staying in the Teahupoo 6 bed dorm. Impressively sand free room on arrival, great shower and general facilities. The lodge has stunning views across the beach and is less than 5 minutes walk away (ideal when carrying surfboards down). Another thing to note is I would recommend hiring a board from Baggy's for good... More

We stayed in the Oyster room which was fabulous, huge bed and lovely bathroom but we had to ask for towels, no bathmat or bin. That was ok but as it was £110 per night, service could have been better & breakfast should have been included for that price. I know we had a " help yourself in the shared... More

Thanks for your review David & Julie, You should have had towels, every room has two bath towels two hand towels two face cloths and two robes. From talking to Sammy it sounds like the lady that preps the rooms forgot to put the towels in, so sorry about that - I believe Sammy got the towels for you, but... More

Just got back from a girlie weekend learning to surf at Baggys Lodge and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. Stayed in Teahupo 6 bunk room (comfy beds and stylish en suite wetroom), great set up for helping yourself to breakfast and hot drinks, fab residents lounge and really friendly staff. We had surfing lessons with Lyndon Wake surf school. Really... More

We had 2 nights at Baggys and were given a very warm welcome despite our late arrival. I was amazed at how clean, tidy and tastefully decorated the lodge was. Everything you need for a surfing weekend. Warm showers, surf hire, cafe, knowledgeable and helpful staff all within easy walking distance of Croyde beach. A good view of the surf... More

Had a perfect 3 day break here. Lyndon provided an awesome surf lesson, as well as ferrying us to and from our beaches of choice, and kitting us out with all the gear. Maverick room comes with a lovely window seat to watch the world go by. Communal areas all clean and cosy, and plenty of outdoor space. Mike and... More

i didnt stay in a room here just ate in the resturant. It took over an hour for the food to be prepared....and just as long to get a few cans of coke. food is mediocre at best and massively over priced. staff were really nice though

Thanks for your review stacy399, Sorry you had to wait so long for your food. Not sure why, but we have completely changed the way we operate in the café now. Don't think it was ever overpriced compared to the rest of the village. Mike x More
