Did some work and stayed here for one night. Food is wery good, rooms are fine. Breakfast is nice. Lots of parking and easy to find. some nice walking just outside the door. You can swim or fish in the lake.

My husband and I travelled in this region while searching for ancestor's homes. You are a bit isolated, out in the forested and lake strewn country- which is very unique and charming. If you are looking for a 4 Season's hotel and experience, move on. But, of you want an authentic stay in a purely Swedish country manor house and... More

Torbjorn ("Thunder Bear") Colfach and his lovely wife run this rural treasure that's been entertaining guests for more than 600 years. Upon arrival with our 6' tall 200 pound grandson Dame Colfach immediately moved him from a cot in our room to a nice adjoining room -- no extra charge. Great food, a nice wine list and hearty, personal welcome... More

This is a very quaint setting and would classify this place as a large B&B. We were part of a tour group and were personally greeted by the owner. They had a special performance by a Swedish dance group. The grounds are very nice along the banks of a lake. The meal selection was small but delicious. Unfortunately the country... More

If you are looking for a 5 star cookie cutter resort, this is not it. This is a proudly historic enclave set in the middle of the bucolic Swedish countryside. It dates back to 1389 with the current owner claiming to be 26th owner. The rooms are nicely restored, somewhat small, and very clean. The beds are a little weary.... More

We were fortunate to spend a night here while on a Tauck tour of Scandinavia. Beautiful location; welcome by the owner; a Swedish folk dancing performance on the lawn for us...everhything was so very nice. Our rooms were in the annex and were small but nice. It was a warm night, but we were able to leave the window open... More

Stayed here for one night as part of the Volvo Overseas Purchase travel package. Loved this hotel. Well kept, clean and the location is great. The walk around the grounds and lake are superb. The ruin is easy to reach and the runestone is a must.

This was our 5th visit to Toftaholm Manor and it is indeed still a very nice place to visit. But this time we did sadly lack the personal touch that previously has been the trademark of especially this establishment. We can conclude though that the location and environment is still absolutely beautiful; the historic buildings are still charming and very... More

It is difficult to find decent hotels along the E4 main road in southern Sweden. Toftaholm is an exception to the rule. Pretty surroundings on historic grounds next to the river Lagan. The rooms in the annex are all newly renovated and nicely decorated. In the main building breakfast is served as well as lunch and dinner if you so... More
