This year we came with our little dog in tow during the festival fortnight. It is a credit to the Hotel build quality that we heard not a peep from the massive fair in the square (which the kids loved) once in bed. Nothing. The rooms now have mini bars which is great. This hotel is the best in town... More

We booked another hotel in Mundaka, but when we arrived all rooms turned to be occupied. Mundaka was the first location on our way to Portugal during the honey moon and after a long drive from Eastern Europe we just wanted a place to sleep and relax. How happy we were to discover this lovely hotel! The personnel was really... More

We found this lovely family run hotel for the last night of our 7 night tour of Northern Spain and what a find it turned out to be. We arrived earlier than expected but were able to gain access to our hotel rooms and they were surprisingly very well equipped and very comfortable. The decor was excellent and for those... More

OK, we are in Mundaka, home of Basque surfing and a world famous left hander. And when in Mundaka, you must stay at Atalaya. Owned and operated by the same family for a generation - with friendly service and a central setting. Just a really nice, simple 3 star hotel that is clean, well presented with nice hard beds and... If you want a safe place close to the surf this it. We had awesome room with a enclosed balcony. Bathroom room was clean with with a bar to hang my suit. Parking lot was gated which made me safe about the board. Staff super friendly. My wife was very pleased.

This was my first visit to Mundaka in 30 years, I remember it as being a quaint little town, great for surfers, but not much else! What a change! And right in the middle of it this wonderful little hotel. Clean, friendly, good price, modern facilities, off street parking, comfortable beds, I could go on. Recommended if you can get... More

Having read other customer reviews it was a no-brainer to book this place for our weekend break in Mundaka. It truly is a lovely hotel, very nice, clean, bright rooms, welcoming staff and in a great central location. We had a balcony that was overlooking the plaza and had sea views - it was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were delightful and the location could not be better. The rooms are a little run down but the bathrooms have clearly been replaced recently and the general vibe is of an old Victorian sea-side property. It just fits. Mundaka is idyllic and incredibly romantic. Highly recommended.
