Just back from the gorgeous Villea Village Resort where I had the best holiday of my life. The resort is a little jewel on the southern east coast of Crete sourrounded by magestic mountain gorges, unspoiled private snorkelling beaches, long swimming beaches, charming mountain villages, beautiful towns and people. The water is so clean you can see right to the... more

This is a very special hotel, located in what is still, a quiet corner of Crete. Everyone at the hotel goes out of their way to make your stay a wonderful experience, recommending places to visit, to eat etc. For a few days in mid June it takes on an extra special ambiance when the annual Music Festival takes place,... more

Clean and comfortable, in an attractive and well-groomed garden setting, the Villea Village was the perfect home base for a week's exploration of idyllic Eastern Crete. As the other reviewers stated, the hotel is in a great little village, just one block from a very nice beach. The pool is large and immaculate, and the poolside bar is a great... more

We came here as a timeshare exchange. The pool is absolutely magnificent. The area of Makrigialos is a small village with shops and tavernas. The resort is about a block from a wonderful beach. Our apartment was lovely and clean. There is some funkiness to this place, with a cast of international characters - very Agatha Christie. Friendly group around... more

A week here will give you a base to tour everywhere from Iraklion to Vai. The hotel is comfortable and cool, but the service from the manager, Vassilis is second to none. From showing us how to make raki at Kazanema weekend; to leading us on a hike through Kapsa Gorge; he truly made the week a brilliant Cretan experience.... more

we spent a week this september in villea village. we are full of praise. the rooms are not fancy, but are clean, pleasant and have a pretty porch facing the olive orchard. what makes the place so special is the wonderful atmosphere that the owners vassilis and sue created. it is really being home away from home. Activities, recommendations and... more

This was the best vacation week of my entire career as a traveler. Sue and Vassili are generous and accomodating to their guests. Maria and Jessica at reception are sweet and competent. Chrissoula makes one terrific "Greek coffee." Margaret and Ron (two of the sweetest people on the planet) present a combination Greek-English breakfast that leaves you wanting for nothing,... more

Vassilis and Sue run a very relaxing and friendly place to stay. Makriyialos is a lovely spot and though they are not right on the beach, this really doesn't seem to matter once you get in the holiday mood. Staying at VV it is easy to get into the holday mood. Charming hosts with a relaxed attitude running a comfortable... more

Having just returned from Crete and Athens, Villea Village provides a great place to relax from the Athens activities. Our room was good with enough comforts to make us happy. The pool and the bar were a nice place to spend a quiet restful day. The beach is just across the street and the water in the Med. was very... more

Never in my life has a hotel, made me take some time off and write a review. However, Villea Village is an exception. An exception because after you visit Villea Village, you actually want to tell everybody, how much of a great place it is. Lets just get one thing straight though before we go any further: If you are... more
