We did not stay here but had an evening meal here, among our three best meals out of six evenings dining in Bad Schandau this Summer. While the restaurant area is laid out in the traditional style with wood lined walls and similar dark wooden tables without tablecloths, the menu offers interesting contrasts in the presentation of the local regional... This family run hotel had character and provided a good level of friendly, efficient service. Located in the wooded valley of the River Elbe, not far from the Bastai rock formations it would be an ideal centre for exploring Saxon Switzerland. Unfortunately for us it rained heavily during our visit. We did, however, have the consolation of a large, comfortable... More

We stayed here on the first night of a cycle tour, the hotel was very friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable with everything you needed for a lovely stay. Breakfast was plentiful with lots on offer. Checkout was simple and quick and the staff were very helpful.

We were here for 2 nights and enjoyed it. Hotel staff was very good, nice buffet breakfast and clean cozy rooms. Close to the spa and restaurants. We ate at the hotel one night and it had a great menu with lots of local specialties. Looking forward to a return trip. Bad weather kept us from hiking and bicycling as... More

We spent two nights in this lovely hotel. Our room had a balcony with a view of the main street, (which is quite picturesque), and a small park. The town is on the Elbe River in the heart of "Saxon Switzerland" and makes a great base for exploring this beautiful area. Our stay was too short. The room was clean comfortable... More

We recently stayed 5 nights at this hotel and were very impressed with it. We booked demi pension and the evening meals were very good. Slightly different from usual so called 'international' menu, with I suspect a strong regional influence. Excellent buffet breakfast as well. Our room number 108 with balcony (type that is made of wood and covered) was... More

This hotel was an excellent base for exploring the Saxon Schweiz National Park on the border of Germany and the Czech Republic. The hotel adjoins a small city park and is within walking distance of all attractions in this charming spa town. The room was pleasant and comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the main street. The staff was friendly and... More

We booked a family room for two nights, but ended up staying only one. The room and bathroom were spartan and basic. There was no air-conditioning, only a fan. Curtains did not fully draw across the small windows. The pull-out sofa bed that was provided for our children was the size of a single, about 3 feet wide - there... More
