We waited a few months before offering this review because we wanted to see how it settled on our memories. And we have come to realize that this is a special place where memories are made. In each room is a diary where people who stay there can write their thoughts. In our room, a couple who had stayed there... More

...but I'm too enthusiastic about it not to. It's just that some places are so great you fear them becoming too popular. A sublime experience: Beautiful lodge, lovely rooms, great food, wonderful staff, heavenly mountain views, thoughtful amenities, and on & on. The room rates are quite reasonable when you consider it includes breakfast (very good), picnic lunch (tasty) and... More

We stayed on a Tuesday and Wednesday night in order to drive on the Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon and to visit Okonoluftee Indian Village before heading off on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Biltmore Estate. This Lodge is right at the NC end of the Cherohala Skyway. We stayed in the Hemlock Suite; it was a beautiful... More

This is the fourth year that we have spent our vacation at Snowbird, meeting once again with the friends that we met our first year. Robert Rankin considers himself a steward of the property. His efforts and that of the conscientious staff emphasize the natural beauty of the property. The outdoor recreational options-hiking, kayaking or canoeing, birding are all there.... More

We go yearly to the Snow Bird Lodge, have for 11 years now. My husband and I love, love, love it! For our initial visits, we just did personal escapes/refresh/relax times. Four years ago, my husband joined a photography class, and he has now participated in that hobby-related class every year since, and we have made some dear, dear friends.... More

The Snowbird Lodge offers a unique opportunity to experience outdoor activities like canoeing, paddle boarding, mountain biking, and hiking or running the tail of the dragon while enjoying the peace and serenity that is Snowbird. The food is very good and all meals are included which is great since there are few options in the area. My favorite thing was... More

Great place for a romantic get away. Many things to do like hiking, fishing, and water sports like canoeing. Wonderful places to just rock or swing and read or relax. Great dining room with 3 delicious meals daily, included in the price of your stay. Well stocked bar. Cannot beat this place for a mountain trip. Planning to return.

We are repeat visitors to the Lodge. It truly is a get away from it all. The rooms are comfortable and extremely clean. The food is gourmet and you never leave the restaurant unsatisfied. The staff go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. I'm a teacher and live on a budget. The Lodge is a little... More

My sister made arrangements for both couples to celebrate our wedding anniversaries at Snowbird Mountain Lodge. A lovely location with beautiful mountain views, excellent food, and a gracious host and friendly staff. Wonderful detached screened lounging area with fire pit (perfect for making S'mores after dinner), beautiful landscaping and overlooks. Nearby hiking and canoeing easily paired with the bag lunch...
