What a great place to rest after a long day on our bike on the way to Washington DC and Rolling Thunder! Our room was pristine clean, nicely furnished, and a very short walk to Nikola's Restaurant. Family run primarily by Doreen, who not only took our reservations, but greeted us for dinner (great dinner!), but also was up at... More

We recently stayed here after stumbling upon it while just driving around on a weekend getaway to nowhere. Staff was amazing at helping us get a room and the cleaning ladies do an amazing job. We were only going to stay the one night and head out somewhere else but 6 hours later we ended up back there and this... More

Like another reviewer stated, this motel is very run down. Items in desperate need of changing are the carpet & the curtains (which were more like sheers - I did not feel like I had any privacy). The sheets were fair but the blanket did not appear to have been washed in quite a while. the room was musty smelling... More

Thank you for choosing High Meadows Inn on your recent stay. Thanks for the review We hope that once is not enough. We are in the process of updating all of our rooms and it takes time, we are doing the best that we can at this time. That weekend of your stay was a busy one and we tried... More

Pleasant room. Friendly owner (Doreen). Great value. A wonderful snapshot of life in the mountains of NC. Great restaurant, Nicklas. The chef is the owner of the Inn, and has been presenting great food for 30 plus years. Don't miss the experience.

One a recent overnight business trip, I decided to visit the High Meadows Inn based on their price and overall good ratings. The room (updated king) was clean, comfortable, and more spacious than similarly priced rooms at national brands. I typically stay in Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn sort of hotels when I travel for work, and I would... More

Obviously, if you are staying in Roaring Gap North Carolina there are a limited number of accommodations to choose from. That being said, The High Meadows Inn is a very quaint older motel that beckons one back to the days of yore. The staff is friendly and genuinely helpful. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful. The room was dated but... More

This area could probably use an updated hotel, but this place is fine - although I wouldn't stay there more than one night and alone. My wife wouldn't have liked it and my kids would have freaked out. Room smelled musty and the AC wasn't working well. Bed was clean and carpet seemed ok - just run down - -... More

I visited this property several years ago. What a difference. The room now was very nice, clean and comfortable, the bed was also very comfortable The location of this hotel is great visiting the mountains. The only issue was, no microwave, no hairdryer and having the TV and the AC unit upgraded would be nice. This is not a five... More

We stayed at this hotel a week ago in one of the newly renovated rooms. We loved the vaulted ceilings and found the beds to be very comfortable! We loved the updates but realize this is an older place and we were not expecting the rooms to feel like a newly built hotel room. We were provided an iron and... More

We stayed here because we saw the renovation on Hotel Impossible. But the owner was not friendly during our stay, and our renovated room was not impressive (bathroom was nice, but bed not properly made--and a sheet laid over the bedspread; furniture and TV were outdated; chairs with new fabric were stained/slightly torn, coming apart, and very uncomfortable; bed was... Thank you for choosing High Meadows Inn as your destination stay. However I am sorry that it was unenjoyable. I would like to say in my defense the beds where made as Hotel Impossible showed us . The furniture was a gift from Hotel Impossible. With updated the TV we can only update a little at a time. Blow dryers... More
