Obviously, the title gives it away, but the Oakwood really was nice. The hosts/owners were delightful and helpful. The accomodations were on par with the best B&B's we've stayed in, and the breakfast was excellent as well. The location meant that we could easily walk around the historic area of Raleigh, but it was also an easy to drive to... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Everything was so welcoming from the working fireplace to the lovely swing on the private porch. The neighborhood is very friendly and accessible to a bus route for all of downtown Raleigh. Don't think you could ask for more:) more

Very well maintained, clean and friendl bed and breakfast. Very good location for any metro Raleigh or Wake county activity. The owners work very hard to make sure your visit is enjoyable. They went out of their way to make sure all of our questions were answered. I would strongly recommend this b&b to anyone. more

The. Oakwood Inn is nestled in a nice neighborhood near the center of Raleigh. It is convenient to both NC State and Meredith College. Ample off-street parking is available. The Inn is meticulously decorated in a Victorian style. The overall appearance is classy, but your innkeepers are very friendly. This leads to a wonderful combination of class and casualness. Fresh... more

I enjoyed the homey atmosphere and the absolutely delicious breakfasts. I felt so pampered eating breakfast in the elegant dining room. I also took advantage of the selection of DVD movies. The coconut chocolate chip cookies that were always available were to die for! My room was beautifully decorated, as was the living room. more

A historic old house in an old historic Raleigh neighborhood. If you want convenience and access to the downtown governmental buildings, this is the place. Very convenient to the State Archives, including the Genealogical Research Room. The neighborhood of old homes is interesting, and the people are friendly and helpful. My wife and I liked the idea of leaving the... more

We only spent one night at the Oakwood Inn but it was charming. The Inn is in a great historic neighbor within easy walking distance of dowtown Raleigh restaurants, museums, etc. Great porches for reading or just sitting and talking. Breakfast was great and left us talking about shirred eggs and how we could have gone so long before discovering... more

What a wonderful place, what great inn keepers. Its convienant to down town and all attractions. You can visit the museums close by and take a trolley tour or just stroll down tree shaded avenues in the Historic Oakwood neighborhood. In the evening you can swing yourself into a different era, on the porch swing and watch the lightning bugs in... more
