We just returned from a four night stay at the Holiday Inn Brownstone in Raleigh, North Carolina. The hotel is in a good location just off the NC State campus. It is within walking distance of shopping (Cameron Villlage), nice restaurants (Porter's) and coffee shops. The hotel itself was clean and the staff was friendly. There is a small bar/casual... more

This hotel is an older property that is showing it's age. On the plus side it is clean and the staff is very friendly and courtous. We didn't try the "Ledo Pizza" restaurant that is attached but it looked clean and typical. The surrounding area doesn't really have much as far as sightseeing and dining. There is a shopping center... more

My wife and I were coming to Raleigh to watch the Hurricanes (NHL) so I booked a room just as I do when going there on business. When we arrived my wife realized she had forgotten her coat to wear at the hockey game. The desk clerk gave directions to the nearest store (Belks in Cameron Village- 2 blocks). After... more

We stayed here for one night while in Raleigh. We found the hotel clean and the front desk staff friendly. Our room looked like it had recently been renovated (except for the toilet, oddly enough) and the king size tempurpedic mattress provided a really comfortable night of sleep. Unlike the other reviewer, we had no problems with hot water. We... more

I stayed here because it was selected for me for work (because it's very close to NC State)--but I would never pay to stay at this hotel. I think it's quite dirty, and the rooms have many problems. Here are some of my issues with the hotel: I was on the top floor, the supposed 'executive level'--I did not have... more

I made arrangements for a group to stay at the Brownstone, and couldn't have been more pleased with the service I received! The Sales Department was professional and accomodating. Upon arrival, check-in was quick, the room was clean and roomy, and I LOVED the new mattresses! This is an older hotel, a landmark for those of us who grew up... more

I stayed at the Brownstone Holiday Inn over four days in December of 2006 for a conference. I had many hotels to choose from and chose this one simply because this is where my conference was located. This was my first stay here. See my pros and cons below. Pros: Good food Nice experience getting breakfast for room service and... more

The Brownstone used to be a nice place to stay in Raleigh. Not anymore. Upon arriving, I was placed in a room across from the hotel laundry in the basement. After asking to be moved away from the squeaky dryers I was told there was no way to accommodate me. Resigned to the fact that I would have to stay... more

I wanted to like this hotel but just couldn't. First the pluses: Staff were friendly and helpful. The manager was great; he came and moved my stuff personally. The beds were fantastic - make sure you get a room with the Temper-pedic mattress. The decor in the executive floor rooms is quite nice. Great heating/cooling system that lets you choose... more

Yes, this hotel looks a little worn and could certainly use an update...but I have to say I was astounded when I found 2 tempurpedic beds in my room! The room itself was great - it was clean and the bathroom had recently been redone and looked new (marble sink top). The hotel was extremely quiet even though there was... more
