I stayed here for four nights while working at a school close by. It was better than being at home! When I arrived late Sunday afternoon one of the owners, Alison, was at the door to greet me. The check in was quick and painless and she gave me lots of helpful information about the surrounding area. There was a... More

I stayed at Furain with my wife and 2 young daughters (11 months and 3 years old) for the weekend. The owners had only acquired the guest house last October and said we were the first family with young children to stay. The room we had was huge, clean and warm. The double, single and travel cot provided all comfortable.... More

Just returned home after spending a relaxing week at furain guesthouse. From the moment I arrived after a 7 hour journey I felt completely at ease and welcomed by Alison and Dave who have recently acquired the house. Breakfast was delightful each morning, freshly cooked and such a choice too from homemade pancakes to scottish smoked salmon with scrambled eggs.... More

Thank you for your very kind comments. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. I only wish we had been able to do something about the weather - it doesn't always rain in Aberdeen and hopefully on your next visit you will able to experience this area in the sunshine. More

Stayed for one night - this was booked through someone on our behalf so it was not by choice. I thought it would be lovely as there are some good reviews and on the website it looks good. My son and I were tired as we had travelled 3.5 hours on the road and were there to visit my special... More

I was disappointed to read that you and your son had not enjoyed your recent stay with us. Firstly, I am very sorry that you felt the check in was “rushed”. As you and your son were tired and were staying with us while visiting your other son I felt that just letting you know where and when breakfast was... More

I stayed at Furain for 2 nights in January. I could not fault the owners, perfect hosts. My room was very spacious & more than suitable. I would highly recommend the Furain. All the best in your new venture.

We stayed a couple of nights having found this accommodation on our previous visit to Scotland 2 years ago. A very comfortable place with friendly helpful hosts. Cooked to order breakfast was from an interesting menu. We had a spacious room upstairs which was comfortable.

We had a lovely room with high ceilings and very clean. A nice oldfashioned house near Aberdeen end close to the catle trail. Excellent breakfast with hot toast. Charming hosts which made us feel very welcome and parking facility in front and at the back of the house. Bus to Abderdeen stops almost in front of the house.

Wonderful stay with the Reids and a top pub up the road, the Plougman meant this Kiwi felt very welcome. Great local info from a charming and genial host. Room 9 at the back was so quiet I nearly missed breakfast (which was excellent)

We chose the Furian Guest House for its location outside of Aberdeen centre. The decor is a little tired but the rooms are clean and offer everything that is needed for a two night stay; the owners are friendly and make you feel at home. There is a good choice of breakfasts and I can recommend the Scottish Breakfast.

Endorse the opinions of other reviewers, that Furain is an excellent and good value choice for anyone wanting a base from which to explore NE Scotland. Comfortable rooms, plentiful breakfast menu and charming hosts.
