My husband and I arrived on bicycles after riding in the rain and cold, battling a 20 mph head wind. Knowing what we'd have been facing, the owner of Sportsman's, Mac, pre-warmed our clean, attractive room for us. We spent a comfortable night and were most grateful for Mac's kind service and good humor.

You know the saying "above and beyond"? The Sportsman's Inn is emblematic of the phrase. The owner is gentle and kind and the rooms are clean. But moreover it feels like home. My group had two rooms and a fantastic night. The pool is lovely, the porch-style swing out front is perfect for visiting and when I am back in... More

This was our second stay, and it again worth the trip. The rooms are all remodeled and clean. The rate is right, and the owner always willing to put on a fresh pot of coffee. We enjoy traveling to the Outer Banks, and Sportsman Inn will always be part of our travel plans.

We stopped at several places along the way to OBX and this was such a good choice. Owner was so nice and helpful. Our room was freshly painted and new mattress. Microwave and Frig. in our room without paying more to have. Clean and plenty of hot water. By no means the Holiday Inn but if your just needing a... More

When journeying down highway 64 to or from the NC Outer Banks, this is an excellent choice for the weary traveler. There are not too many towns along the highway in this part of the state, so this area offers a good resting spot. While in Plymouth, make sure you visit the old historic waterfront. It's a pretty unique place.... More

It's not the Holiday Inn, but it cost only half as much. And in some ways, it's better - park in front of your room and nobody dancing on the ceiling in the room above you. The rooms were recently renovated and are in good shape. Mack is the epitome of the friendly customer service oriented owner/manager. I will definitely... More

Our group has been staying with Mack for almost 30 years. Whether our swan hunting group has 3 or 23 individuals staying at the motel, the service and accommodations are great. Mack is always ready to help make your stay more pleasant with a fresh pot of coffee, a restaurant recommendation or a late check out. It is always an... More

I've always wanted to stay here. The Sportsman's in reminds me of those motels you see in movies along Rt 66. We stayed on our way to Hatteras Island and were pleasantly surprised. Don't let the name make you think that it's just a place for hunters and fisherman to crash. The room was Very clean and comfortable. There was... More

I came here out of necessity, as I ran into roaches at the Port o Plymouth Inn. Mack, the owner of the Sportsman, was beyond friendly. He has the customer service thing down to a science! Rooms were clean, but basic. But cable tv, hot showers, comfortable beds...what more do you need? Rates were great...hard to find a motel any... More
