My husband and I, with my parents, stayed here over the weekend. It was the only place close to Mt. Airy that had rooms available. Let me start by saying the staff and owners were very nice and tried to accommodate us the best they could. Upon arrival, they had a hard time deciding which room to give us. They... More

I'll give them credit for accommodating me without a reservation, and the room was clean, but so much for the positives, I rate budget motels against other budget motels. I don't expect a palace, but this place can do better. The room was worn and in need of TLC. The door latch needed adjustment so I wouldn't have had to... More

First let me say this is an older hotel so I was quite surprised that on the outside and in the lobby the place was quite clean. The lady who checked me in was very nice and humble and I found her to be quite a joy. I go to my room, and unlock door and enter and again, I... More

We liked the motel except for the detours. Mt. Pilot is a beautiful area and park to visit. Lots to see and do. The motel bathroom needs updated. There were no safety bars at the tub. Very important for senior use. No refrigerator.

We arrived in our room late Friday night and our room smelled like dogs and urine. There were cigarette burns all over our comforter, ants in the bathroom, and a pair of old dirty socks (that were not ours) in the room. Because it was late at night and we had to be up early the next morning we decided... More

Had trouble finding a motel for the night so ended up staying here. It's okay, not great but not a fleabag motel. Beds are comfortable but was a bit dirty looking and agree with others about the wallpaper. The door did not shut tightly and had lots of bugs get into room, especially the stink bugs (realize they are bad... More

All of the bad reviews are correct. The first "nonsmoking" room I was put in smelled like someone had just smoked a cigarette. The second room I got didn't smell of smoke, but when the AC was on, mildew was blowing into the room. There was mold growing on the wrinkled and peeling wall paper. There was caulk everywhere and... I strongly encourage anyone planning to stay at this hotel to sleep in your car! Don't be fooled by the building. From the street it looks like a nice place. The room was cheap, but this hotel left a lot to be desired. The first room had a broken lock and a huge spider, as well as hair in the... More

A friend and I stayed in this motel one night after riding motorcycles all day. That day was warm with temperatures in the upper eighties and we were looking forward to cooling off in the pool. However, the pool was closed it's a seasonal thing. The lobby was in okay condition and the staff was friendly. The two rooms were... More

This is now an econolodge. The room we stayed in smelled awful. It was "non-smoking" but whoever was downstairs or next door was filling our room with second hand smoke. They must spray something to try and cover it up. Had to ask for shampoo. Sleep in your car, do yourself a favor.
