My fiance and I booked a last minute room, the Portsmouth, for Valentines Weekend. Shanon was very kind and helpful, although a tad abrasive at first. Everything was very clean, and even though it never got above freezing, we had a beautiful view. Would definitely go back.

Ocracoke: a small, out-of-the-way island, accessible by ferry has no big stores, just a dozen miles of clean, gorgeous beach.Cove B&B is a great place to stay to enjoy the island. Helpful innkeepers, plenty of beach bikes (the best way tog et around town and the island), great breakfasts, wine and cheese in the afternoon, clean, large, comfortable rooms.

We make it a habit to stay in bed-and-breakfast establishments any time we travel, and the COVE was one of the best! The establishment was clean; the hostess was extremely friendly, helpful, and professional; the breakfast was fabulous; and we especially enjoyed the late afternoon wine and appetizer mixer. To top it off, we didn't have to rent bicycles or... More

The build up on the website seemed to promise better views and better food than delivered. We enjoyed our stay, but the accommodations and food were average at best. The free bicycles were nice but needed maintenance. The one I used at first threw the chain three times before I could get back to exchange it. The one that was... More

Thank you so much for your feedback, we do appreciate it. My apologies on the bike situation, I fear our fleet had taken a beating this summer. We have, however had a makeover from Island Cycles, and are happy to say they are now in tip top shape. We are always striving for improvement, and are working on revamping our... More

We stayed at the Cove on the weekend of the Pirate Jamboree. This was our third stay here and once again were very pleased with our stay. Sharon, the inn keeper, called about 12:00 on the day of our arrival and told us we could arrive early as our room was ready. A very nice gesture on her part. We... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to send us a review! First of all, was that Pirate Jamboree just an awesome event? There certainly were fun activities for all ages. That 3 ship battle in the harbor was one of the highlights of my stay here so far. We so appreciate your feedback on the issues on the... More

I had a great visit to Ocracoke Island and it was made better with the comfortable and relaxing experience at The Cove B&B. I was looking for a place with a home away from home feel and that is exactly what I got. The host was accommodating, breakfast was tasty and a perfect start to the day. The common area... More

I've been coming here for years and it continues to be my favorite place. Peaceful, Charming, Relaxing and just the right size, NOT an over crowded Impersonal place, very Quaint! PERFECT! The Host/Hostess have always been friendly and ready to offer helpful info on sights and eateries.

My wife and I spent a weekend in Ocracoke recently and stayed two nights at the Cove. The Cove is located near the lighthouse, about a half mile out of the small center so all is within reach either walking or bicycle, which can be obtained from the Cove. The Cove was about what I expected. The room was spacious enough and had a nice balcony. It is away from town and the water, but Ocracoke is so small, that is not an issue and we knew it going in. The complimentary bikes are a treat and the wine reception every evening was a pleasant surprise. The plated breakfast... More

Thanks so much for your response, and we are happy you enjoyed your stay with us. We have been kicking around the idea of a Keurig. In the meantime, we are keeping our coffee pot "on the ready" in case any guest wants to make a pot outside of our breakfast hours. More

The Cove is a homey, comfortable B&B on a quiet street in Ocracoke. While there is no beach access, the Pamlico Sound can be seen just a bit from several balconies with the Ocracoke Lighthouse in view from other rooms. Breakfasts are very good, and wine with goodies to eat each evening at 5:30 pm is a nice touch. Add... More
