Based on the reviews here, we selected The Cove for a quick, overnight get-away from our home in Beaufort, NC. Having been to Ocracoke many time, we knew what to expect from the village. However, we were not familiar with The Cove, but did have high expectations based mainly on its website, but also on the reviews here. Well, The... More

Overall a good place to stay while in Ocracoke . Our room was large, clean and had a nice view of the sound. The Innkeeper was pleasant and the breakfast and wine reception were good. Bikes available, but many need some maintenance or should be replaced.

My husband and I spent a long weekend at the Cove and were very happy with the stay. The location is good and Sharon was a great hostess -- always happy to answer our questions and share tidbits about island activities and experiences. One of the things that appealed to me about this place is that it is not so... More

We really expected much more when we booked the Plover Suite. It was described as private but is located off the common room at the front door and the base of the stairs. I am a very sound sleeper. After a long day of beach and sun I drifted off to sleep at 10PM even with all of the noise... More

It is the uncommon experience that does not advance one's understanding, and this one is no exception. Some of the issues raised are immutable. We have appropriately addressed the others and they have been rectified. We thank you for your thoughtful observations, and trust that your next visit to The Cove will be more to your liking. More

We thoroughly enjoyed the Lighthouse room at The Cove for a 3 night stay in Ocracoke. Major highlights of our experience at The Cove include: --Comfortable room and bed --Awesome ceiling fan that kept us cool at night --Air conditioning kept the whole place comfortably cool, too --Extra blankets in the closet --Bathroom practically as large as our Brooklyn apartment... We found ourselves loving every minute of our stay at The Cove. Sharon was always willing to help and made amazing breakfasts each morning we were there! She even woke up early to provide us with some breakfast sandwiches due to us having to leave early. The afternoon wine time is a great way for guests to interact if they... More

The Cove turned out to be a perfect place to stay for our 3 day/2 night stay on Ocracoke. Our original plan was for a regular room. A last minute change of plans required us to take our 15 yr old daughter and fortunately, the first floor Plover suite was available. She ended up sleeping on the couch and everyone... More

While it rained a good bit of the time we were there, everything was still lovely. It was obvious it may do that a good bit there with the extensive standing water. Room was large and nicely appointed with a great view and service was excellent thruout. We very much enjoyed the included very nice breakfast and the owners were... More

Very nice place to stay in Ocracoke. Nice room and great brekfast. Close to a small beach (about ten minutes walk) and close to the harbour, restaurants, the lighthouse etcetera. Would love to visit again.

Although the building shows some age, every room was kept immaculately clean. Other guests were friendly, too-- So if you come here, be prepared to enjoy the company of other couples at breakfast and the wine reception in the evenings!
