The hotel was not clean and the plumbing was in disrepair. The first room they assigned us had a clogged tub. When we asked to move, they complied but acted as though it was an inconvenience. The second room was tiny, had a clogged sink and no heat. The owner brought in a portable heater. At this point, we decided... more

Hotel was ok if you don’t mind a sink in your room instead of the bathroom, no phone, flaky wi fi (none in rooms,) flashes of hot to cold water back and forth while taking a shower, !MICRO! fridge, and NO room service (grab towles, soap, etc when you can!) Additionally, We were charged a substantial amount the day after check... more

Booked this hotel after checking out the photos and reviews. It was a little expensive ($150/night) but wanted a good vacation with family. I was really disappointed to say the least with the quality of room and the services provided for the cost of stay. A very small room, an unplugged Fridge, few bugs in the bed, no hangers in... more

Blackbeard is on Ocracoke Island so getting there is half the fun. Took ferry from Hatteras and drove down to hotel. Easy to find as the town is quite small. Lot of bikers so slow down. Blackbeard is a quaint hotel. We parked in front of the hotel and check-in was easy. Finding our room took some time. We had... more

This hotel was very clean.Spacious lobby area with a good games room with table football, air hockey and other such games.Small pool on a raised deck and well fenced in.We had two rooms, one in main hotel which was very nicely decorated and one in the annexe which was pretty spartan.Only one bedside table,no hairdryer etc.We had just come from Manteo and... more

The hotel doesn't have clear parking signs and there is a custom made "RESERVED" sign next to another sign saying "GUESTS ONLY, VIOLETORS WILL BE KEEL HAULED" that anyone can misunderstand (both together) as "RESERVED FOR GUESTS". The biggest shock came when the hotel owner (French beard guy who drives Honda pilot) approached me, claimed that I have parked my... more

My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the smallest rooms, and while it was fine for what we needed and had a cute balcony, I wouldn't have wanted to spend all day there. The pool, however, was a lifesaver after we treked to the beach only to find it was too windy to endure. All in all we had... more

Really enjoyed our stay! Very laid back and friendly atmosphere. Truly captures the feel of Ocracoke. Nice accommodations as long as you are not expecting a five star hotel. I work for a Hilton hotel and this place is derfinetly not a Hilton but that is what I loved about it. Just laid back and relaxed..no frills. The ONLY complaint... more

We live in Virginia Beach, and escape to Ocracoke fairly regularly. Blackbeard's is our inn of choice in the beautiful Ocracoke fall season. We first stayed there because they take (well-behaved) dogs but soon found they had great, accommodating management and a neighborhood setting where we could walk to a great coffee shop and shops. One year we stayed Halloween... more

We thought is was cute. And the name intrigued us. (Blackbeard was actually killed in the area}. The people were nice. The whole island experience was that it was cramped with stores etc. We knew we were only staying one night... but it ws pretty cool. Our personal favorite part was the cat that roams around freely. He even came... more
