We arrived from the Cedar Island Ferry and went to The Sand Dollar. We were greeted nicely and check-in was easy. Thank goodness we had reservations as there was no vacancy during the weekend nights. We arrived at this place because of a misunderstanding on our part. Fortunately, they still had a room available. It was okay, but rather expensive. Then again that’s probably what you get in Ocracoke during the summer. more

Sand Dollar Motel was wonderful. We went there after a camping trip on the beach. It was quiet and clean. The yard and pool were beautiful. The owners were kind and helpful. The rates were very reasonable. It was an easy walk to town. Get directions if you don't know Ocracoke as the motel is a couple of turns off... more

We needed to get away, wanted to celebrate our anniversary and also look at real estate. The room was immaculate,the parking excellent, the rate wonderful and the owners surprised us with an anniversary card and home made cookies. How much more family can you get!!!!! I would recommend this to anyone and we intend to re visit these wonderful folks... more

A quiet simple motel, not too easy to find off the main drag. Arriving late we had a friendly welcome from the owner. A comfortable clean room with queen bed and bathroom, Our car was just outside. We were directed to a nearby restaurant for supper and after a quiet night left early to catch the ferry to Cedar Island.... more

We arrived on the early morning ferry and the staff made a special effort to make our room available early even though we never asked them too. We were treated like family during our stay. We have stayed in this motel for the last 3 years with our friend who luckily has been able to booked the suite for July 4th week. This is a trip my family looks forward to every year.
