Date" Sept. 21-23, 2007 I was a little skeptic about going to the Pony Island Motel, after reading the reviews. So I gave them a call before hand to find out if it was true about their beds (I’ve had 2 back surgeries and do not need to be sleeping on a bad mattress) and if the bed linens were... More

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in July 2007 - we booked based on the reviews we saw here and the price, and it was a great choice. For less than $100/night we were within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants, had a clean and spacious queen room, and had access to a pool just steps... More

We stayed at the Pony Island Motel for 2 nights June 2007. It was a nice motel - very clean and spacious for a family of four. We had 2 double beds and the little kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, coffemaker and a small table. My one complaint with the place is that the "poolside" rooms on the 1st... More

Stayed at Pony Island Motel, Jun 1-3, 2007, for the Ocrafolk Festival. Last time we stayed at Pony Island Motel was in 1967. Glad to see that they have remodeled!!!! We stayed on first floor and found the room to be clean and large with air-conditioning, microwave, small refrigerator, and coffee maker. Bathroom did not have hair dryer and only... More

Just came back from a 5 day vacation in Ocracoke. Stayed 4 nights at the Pony Island Motel. Room was nice and very clean, bathroom was spacious and newly remodeled. However....the bed was the most uncomortable we have ever slept in and the sheets were very scratchy. Woke up every morning not feeling very well rested. Overall it was a... More

The Armour family has been coming to Ocracoke Island and staying at Pony Island for at least 8 years. We started with friends and have been coming every year since. My husband & friends (sometimes myself & our son) go back in the fall for fishing. We always stay at Pony Island. They, the owners and the staff, will go... More

We stayed in the newer section over looking the pool in two of the suites with my wife and 2 year old daughter and our in-laws for three nights. I was really surprised at how how nice and clean the rooms were. The pool is nice, not great as it is located right near the main road on the island.... More

My husband and I stayed at Pony Island for 1 night, after Labor Day, on September 6th for $78.10. We were passing through on our road trip down the coast. We didn't know what to expect but Ocracoke Island takes you back to a simpler time. (No side walks, many gravel roads, no street lamps or traffic lights) It's extremely... More

We stayed at the Pony Island Motel the week of August 22 withour 1 and half old son. We stayed and specifically asked for one of the suites - in the new building - overlooking the pool. The suite was spacious, the kitchen stocked with everything we needed to do basic cooking and the place was big enough for us... More

Visited Ocracoke for the first time in mid-July 2005. Stayed at the Pony Island Inn (new section) and was quite happy. With the beach atmosphere, my expectaton was a clean motel room that had necessary conveniences. You really need a 4WD vehicle to totally enjoy the beach. Bring your bike for getting around the island. Bike rentals are available. We... More
