First of all I love the area a nice coastal town. So the motel I found after my parents made me look everywhere and I found it it had a fair price for a place too stay. It's not super nice but it's not super bad, it an average place to stay if you are looking for a good lower... More

What a great place to stay, very family friendly. Comfortable rooms, very clean and cozy. Breakfast is only a few steps away, next door is a dinner, yummm!!! I believe its a family run business that cares about a quality place to stay. They turned us onto a great place to go clamming....

My wife and I have stayed here several times in the last few years, and we have always been treated very well and received excellent service. The rooms are nice and clean, the staff very friendly and helpful.

We came down for a quick anniversary trip and the town was pretty booked up but we got the last room available here. End of Sept. They made arrangements to pick us up at the airport (1.5 mi) and we then rented bikes from the office. The room was very clean and the bathrooms were nicely updated for an old... More

We stayed from 09-28-2014 to 09-29-2014.There was a party going on outside our room both nights with so much noise we could not sleep. The management did nothing and seemed to care less. We will not be back.

The front desk woman Candy was so kind to our kids who wanted to visit her daily. We had to shorten our trip due to unexpected changes and she was very accommodating and didn't charge us even though she could have! The pool was clean and super warm. Room was simply appointed, clean and comfortable. This hotel has a much... More

Clean, friendly, everything you'd want for an overnight or longer stay! Helpful staff, great restaurant on the premises, reasonable rate. What more could one ask for? I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pony Island to anyone, even those accustomed to fancier spots.

I have been staying at Pony Island Motel since 1973. Before then I stayed at the campground back when there were little or no Rangers or closed season. Of course, Ocracoke Island was then North Carolina's best kept secret. One week end there was a Nor Easter and tried Pony Island Motel. The prices and location are a bargain. It... More

Just got back from another trip to the Outer Banks that included a three day stay on Ocracoke. We have been coming to the Pony for several years now. Simply stated: very clean, great location, nice rooms and great prices.

The Pony Island Motel fits Ocracoke Island very well. Although it is an older property, it is clean and comfortable. You should not expect all the amenities of a modern resort, but for the price, the motel is very good. Its location is good, as you can walk to restaurants and shops. The pool is nice. The restaurant is solid.
