One of the many positive attributes of Ocracoke is its size: it is small, and that is a good thing. It is remote, the streets are quiet, and the village shuts down just after sunset. Ocracoke is a great place to get away from the fast-paced, overcrowded beach scenes and chain fast-food joints along the Atlantic coast. But accommodations are... More

This was the second time we stayed at The Anchorage; I love this hotel. We were on the 3rd floor and the view was magnificent. The room was clean and well appointed. I wish the large picture windows had sheer panels behind the drapes--once the drapes were open, anyone passing by could see completely into the room. The continental breakfast... More

We Wanted To Go Some Place We Had Never Been. We Were Very Pleased with the Location And the people who work there. Stayed 3 nights. Really enjoyed the music at the restaurant right across the street, SmackNalleys.

My husband and I have always docked our sailboat at the Anchorage Inn Marina when we sailed to Ocracoke, but it wasn't until a rogue wave sank us just outside the harbor that we truly came to appreciate how much the Inn's staff cares for their guests. They gave us a room knowing we had no way to pay, toiletries... More

Stayed here for 3 nights to attend the Ocrafolk fest with friends. The room was very nice. Had an extended balcony to sit out on overlooking Silver Lake. Could hear the music from SmackNalley's and had great company from the guests on the same floor from Chocowinity. rooms were very nice and service overall was good. Will definitely stay here... More

Probably the most conventional hotel on Ocracoke island. Rooms were very clean. The pool is very nice and located right on the docks so you get a nice view as well. The staff were wonderful and the hotel is really close to everything you would want to visit on the island. Coffee and some breakfast items were offered in the... More

We only booked this the morning of the night we needed to stay, the lady was nice who took our reservation. On arrival it was a typical seaside establishment - it actually reminded me of a hotel I stayed in when I was little in St Ives, Cornwall in the UK - there are no high rise chains on the... More

It is right there where you get off the ferry boat! It's just a ok motel! Gravel parking lot, rustic, small. Walking distance to everywhere you need to go at the island: restaurants, bikes, historic sites, stores. It is clean but the room was tight, so are the beds! Breakfast...coffee, a cup of orange juice and a wrapped muffin which... More

I did not end up staying here, because they were surprisingly rude on the phone for booking. It did not feel like good customer service at all. Not many options on the island so maybe they don't have to be nice to people, but I at least would like my first interaction to be a good one before I stay... More

We like this hotel due to its ideal location, clean rooms, and extremely friendly service. It's delighful just to sit outside the rooms in Adirondak chairs, whether you are on your own or with a group. They have coffee, tea, and muffins for breakfast in the small lobby, but there is a darling coffee shop very near by (Live Oak... More
