We stayed at this marvelous gem of a bed and breakfast while motoring down the Outer Banks. Our hosts (mother and daughter) were absolutely wonderful, aimed to fully please. The room was splendid, clean and the bed very comfortable, upscale but not pretentious. The breakfast of biscuits, eggs, ham, toast, coffee, juice, and homemade cake was wonderful. I would definitely... More

We went to Okracoke for a weekend getaway... and it was. The island is absolutely beautiful and perfectly relaxing. The house is very welcoming and the owners and staff are very friendly. I am a coffee snob and it was quite awesome to stay somewhere that actually knew how to brew a good cup. The breakfast was PERFECT and I... More

There are two houses on the property with available parking. One house is older where breakfast is served and the other house called the annex is much newer. I was in the annex and the room was quite beautiful. The sheets are crisp, white, and clean. The bath towels are large. The owner's grandfather owned the place and has been... More

This lovely set of two old homes that have survived hurricanes and other weather for years are inviting and conveniently located. The room are comfortable, the hosts available but not intrusive and the breakfast is the best you'll ever eat, changes daily, and is good by the family, most of whom you meet in this three generation family who still... We stayed here for 3 nights this past weekend. Breakfast was by far the best part! Homemade by the owner, Donna each morning it was really good! Donna clearly loves her job and her guests. We would stay here again!

Due to Tropical Storm Andrea, the ferry we were supposed to take to Ocracoke was canceled. We immediately called and stated we would not be coming the first night of our trip. The proprietor was very understanding of our situation. Once we arrived, we were greeted and made very comfortable at the bed & breakfast. The room we stayed in... More

We go to Ocracoke every January to "kick back" and have some down time. The Thurston House is one of the few places on the island that is open this time of year. The rooms are very nice: roomy, good beds, and very clean. It's a B&B so you get breakfast. While the coffee is quite good, breakfast is not... More

Loved our room. Breakfast was outstanding both days we stayed, two thumbs up on the coffee. The Thurston House is located right in the middle of everything. We will definitely stay again on our next visit to Ocracoke.

Love this place! The room was charming and spotless! Comfy bed, flatfoot tub, heart pine floors, outdoor showers, great deck and close to the harbor and restaurants! No need for a car, you can cycle everywhere! The breakfast, cooked by the sisters with mom was outstanding! Sweet potato pancakes, eggs, fresh fruit, award winning fig cake! It was perfect !

The Thurston House Inn is in a good location within easy walking distance of lots of restaurant and shops. Breakfast was excellent each morning. I will definitely be staying here next time I come to Ocracoke.
