Inn has two separate buildings and we did not stay in the main building. Our room, Sandpiper, was pretty nice and very clean but the WiFi did not reach there. Tried it with two mobiles and one tablet and it just did not work. In fact, we had to get out of the building before the signal was ok. Location... More

I had a wonderful four night stay here! My room was pretty, comfy and cozy, and clean as can be. The breakfasts were yummy-especially the sweet potato pancakes. The location is terrific! An easy walk to everything, yet secluded and peaceful. Talking with Donna was lots of fun. Her famous fig cake is a delicious treat. I wouldn't have changed... More

I was skeptical of staying at a b&b however, The Thurston House Inn was amazing and has set a high standard for b&b's to follow! The owners and family are so sweet! They make you feel right at home and kindly answer any tourist-y questions you may have. Yet, after breakfast is over and everyone is finished chatting, you definitely... More

Thurston house Inn is a delightful bed and breakfast. It is centrally located on rt. 12, in Ocracoke Village, heading to the harbor, in a very convenient location. It was recommended to us by the Visitor’s Bureau, and is listed in the Official North Carolina Travel guide. It is within walking distance to the harbor, numerous restaurants and shops. Thurston... My wife and I have visited the Thurston House for at least 10 years. We return every year and stay with Donna and Annie. Their warm and friendly hospitality is just like being with family. The location is just perfect . Within walking distance to most everything. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and provide everything to make your... More

We stay at the Thurston House Inn every time we go to Ocracoke. Its central location allows you to walk to almost everything, but it's quiet enough that you can sleep late or take an afternoon nap without being disturbed. Donna is an incredibly friendly and gracious host. Breakfast is out of this world. The fig cake is excellent --... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here recently, for 4 nights. Check in was easy, room was ready with the door open and key on the bureau. We stayed in an upstairs king room in the annex, and it was spacious and comfortable. Just outside the door is a small sitting area and fridge for 2 rooms... More

This Inn was a lucky find. I was travelling with my teenage son and we wanted to stop in Ocracoke for a few days but the few "larger" hotels were not available so we booked the Thurston Inn on a local recommendation that it "would not disappoint". Indeed it did not disappoint. The Inn is clean; well run and very... More

Donna and her family, who have lived on the island all their lives, bring charm, hospitality and genuine welcome to all of their visitors. We have stayed with them 5 time over the past number of years and will continue to go back. If it's history, a home feeling, good old southern hospitality and food you are looking for you... More

Stayed one night at the Thurston and enjoyed a nice clean room, jasmine covered deck, and a hearty breakfast. Donna and her mom shared local lore and their fig cake. Our room was quiet even with the windows open Convenient location, too.
