We planned a last minute, end-of-the-summer, weekend getaway to Ocracoke, NC. Much to our surprise, we had trouble finding a hotel with availability. Apparently, September and October are just as busy as June and July. I finally found two spots that had availability, the Edwards of Ocracoke and The Harborside Motel. After reading review after review, I could not decide... more

Having originally booked and prepaid ( more than dearly) another hotel (Island Inn) which turned out to be unacceptable, we looked for something else. We were very lucky to stumble upon the Harborside Motel. The room was spacious, clean, pleasant, nicely furnished with two easy chairs and a table, two beds with clean linens, and of course clean towels in... more

Our first time to stay at Harborside Motel and our fourth trip to the island. The motel was excellent and extremely clean. Staff very friendly and accomodating. The motel's pier is excellent for a sunset or an early moring cup of coffee . We will be back! more

My boyfriend and I stayed here on my first trip to Ocracoke. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. The room we stayed in was clean and very comfortable and had a nice view of the harbor. It was within walking distance of everything in town. The only thing my boyfriend complained about was the wi-fi signal was weak-- but... more

My wife and I drove down for a quick 3 day get-away to Ocracoke the week of August 3, 2008. This was our first stay at the Harborside Motel and I have to say that the other reviewers are absolutely spot on. The location across from the harbor is excellent - close to everything in town, yet quiet and relaxing.... more

The Harborside Motel is a 1960's era motel which offers a quiet, clean, comfortable albeit no-frills experience, right on Silver Lake Harbor. You can't beat the location and the staff (especially Cindy) were all helpful and friendly. Cindy also bakes scones, coffee cake and biscuits every morning (the blueberry scones were a big hit in our family). Overall, the Harborside... more

Those who have the gift of finding such an idyllic spot on the planet as Ocracoke won't go wrong staying at the Harborside. The people who run the place - Corky, Sue, Cindy, Ruth, and friends - are some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet. The 18 rooms are clean and nicely kept, with sitting chairs outside. There's something... more

A spotlessly clean downtown motel across the road from the harbor. We had all new appliances in our efficiency and even though it is across the street we could still see the water from our second floor balcony. They have a private harborfront sun deck which their patrons are free to use. The check in staff were very friendly and... more
