Our second stay at this luxurious downtown New Bern retreat last summer was even more enjoyable than the first, characterized by elegant comfortable surroundings and indulgent gourmet breakfasts (a scrumptious rotating daily menu of a fruit course followed by your choice of an egg, pancake or French toast entrée, with fruit and breakfast meat on the side). This time we... More

We just returned from a weekend getaway in New Bern. We stayed at the Aerie and we were not disappointed. It was beautifully decorated and very welcoming. Marty, Michael and the staff were great. The breakfasts were the best we have had at any B&B. We really enjoyed the cocktail hour as we were able to meet other guests. We... More

Forget the hotel. The Aerie B&B is where you want to stay. The owners Marty & Michael and staff are wonderful friendly people. Our room was quiet, comfortable and well appointed. Room was straightened and clean towels given every day. Breakfast's were fun and delicious. They spoiled us for sure. The location is within walking distance of everything in town... More

From the moment we arrived we instantly felt at home. Marty and Michael are warm, down to earth hosts who make the whole experience amazing. We interacted with several other staff members who were also very friendly and accommodating to our needs. The staff suggested many activities and dining options, and then made our reservations for us. For 2 parents... More

Our visit to The Aerie B&B was restful and enjoyable. The breakfast each morning was a culinary delight! It was delicious and beautifully presented! We had refreshments in the early evening and then on to great restaurants in the small town of New Bern. The innkeepers Michael and Marty were friendly and treated us like family. The historic Tryon Palace... More

My husband and I spent one night at the Aerie on our way back from Emerald Isle to Raleigh. I had booked The Hidden Room which was private and luxurious. Marty and Mike are wonderful hosts. Cocktail hour in the courtyard gave us the opportunity to meet other guests. Marty even took care of our dinner reservations. Breakfast was a... More

My husband and I have stayed at the Aerie Bed and Breakfast many times and have never been disappointed. Mike and Marty do everything possible to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. We took a tour around town with Mike in his 1929 Ford dressed like Bonnie and Clyde, which was so much fun. New Bern, NC is a beautiful... More

We had a weekend getaway in March. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Everything you need is in walking distance. Breakfast was ok. Wish there was more food options. Price is a little high but you really do get what you pay for here!

Hi Mike, We're happy you enjoyed your stay with us. We are a little disappointed that our breakfast did not meet with your approval. We offer guests 3 different gourmet, cooked-to-order breakfast entrees (menu changes daily) that also includes breakfast meat, fresh fruit, an assortment of juices, hot teas, and coffees. We pride ourselves on our breakfast, and many of... More

Michael and Marty were wonderful hosts in our weekend in Aerie's Magnolia room. They both enjoy people and took our concerns (in this case, gluten) to heart and made a full effort to make a GF breakfast. Of the three menu plates I chose from, only one (an omelette with gluten-free toast) was OK for her to eat. The lack... More
