We stayed at this b&b with our dog and four month old. House is very clean and we felt right at home. The staff was so accommodating and was not in the way at all. Across the street from the beach and within walking distance to a few restaurants. It was too cold out but the pool looked nice. We... More

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Sandbar B&B this October (2012). The place is clean and fresh even though it is very, very pet friendly. All the guests had dogs when we were there (including us with our 5 lb Toy Fox Terrier). There is ample area to walk your dog (and clean up after yourself there... More

We stayed here for a wedding in July. Our rental car flooded in a downpour right before we got to the B&B. The owner, Mike, drove us to the rehearsal dinner, tried to jump the car in the AM and when my husband was not back from towing the car back to Norfolk, Mike drove me to the wedding. Talk... More

We spent June 4th - 7th at the Sandbar and really enjoyed ourselves (married couple with spoiled dog). We had stayed away from the Nags Head area in recent years due to the lack of pet friendly accomodations. We were pleased to find the Sandbar accepted "well behaved pets". We met the Owners, Mike and his dog Princess, at check-in.... More

I stayed here for a few days before Memorial Day weekend. It was a nice place in a great location. Jockey Ridge Sand Dunes were only 5 minutes away, and the Wright Brothers National Park is about 10 minutes away. The beach is only a block away. I was impressed by how clean and uncrowded the beach was at this... More

There is a lot to love about this place. I would describe the atmosphere and decor as "funky chic" - bright and cheerful, and full of local color. We, all three of us, including our Cocker Spaniel, Pearl, warmed up to it immediately. Mike and Princess made us feel welcome. The wine and cheese set out for us certainly helped!... More

What a great experience! My wife, I, and our dog got away for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed was provided, including breakfast and afternoon wine & cheese. Couldn't ask for anything better, plus great restaurants within walking distance! Will definitely keep this as our first option for future trips for get-aways! Thanks!

My Mom and I recently stayed at the Sandbar B&B for a girls' weekend in Nags Head and we had the most wonderful experience! This place really is a hidden gem in the OBX. Tom, the innkeeper, was super friendly, helpful, kind, and very accommodating. He made our stay so enjoyable thanks to all of the great advice he gave... More

Owner (Beatta) refused to refund deposit for (impossible to use) Tuesday reservation immediately following the Saturday landfall of Hurricane Irene. The Outer Banks on Tuesday - flooding, damaged roads, no electricity in places, and the ferries were overwhelmed with emergency response functions. Reason that Beatta (twice) refused refund: "canceled within 10 days of reservation." Poor character.

Everyone at the Sandbar Bed & Breakfast Inn prides themselves on exceptional customer service. Like all hotels, we do have have a cancellation policy if the cancellation is made within 10 days of arrival and policy in the event of mandatory evacuation of Nags Head. When a mandatory evacuation of Nags Head was issued on Friday due to Hurricane Irene... More
