My husband and I stayed one night. I gave it 5 stars for the overall joy of staying in Andy's boyhood home. Hampton Inn charged us $197.00 (which included tax) for the one night. We had to be flexible with our date to find a day that was available and that was trying about 3 months ahead of our stay.... More

Everything was perfect. It was amazing to realize that we were in And Y's childhood home. We especially liked to sit in the swing and watch all the fans come to get a glimpse of fond history. The rooms were great. We also loved the pictures and furnishings.

My husband's favorite TV show was The Andy Griffith Show when he was growing up and favorite actor, the late great Andy Griffth. I mentioned to him I found his childhood home and that we could stay there, so I made the reservation through the Hampton Inn (we stayed there for a couple of nights as well - nice, clean,... More

Andy's birth place was on our list to find first thing this visit to Mayberry NC! We was here on a Sunday last August 17 and could not find the attraction so wanted to find it first thing this time on June 29. No trouble this time. Sits off Rocklford St on Haymore St by the town water tower! Humble... More

This was a neat experience! It was great to stay at a place where Andy Griffith grew up. My husband and I slept in the room that was added on for Andy. We used the kitchen to make a couple of meals since we stayed 3 days. Just keep in mind that ALOT of people stop to take pictures of... More

For those of us who grew up with the AG Show this is a once in a lifetime treat. Guests have the entire house available for their group. There are 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen,a deck, and a backyard with barbecue/hibachi. We enjoyed having take out in Andy's kitchen, reading the many articles framed around the home, exploring the memorabilia,... More
