My wife and I had planned to stay elsewhere in the Morehead City area but, due to some unavoidable delays, our plans got changed. By the time we were able to make final reservations, most of the other hotels were full or had jacked up their prices so high that we decided to try the EconoLodge. What we got was... more

Booked this trip last minute on Expedia for a Friday evening. Was still moderately priced. Was surprised to find the sheets with lots of hair on them, as if the bed had just been made after the previous guest and the sheets unchanged. Pillows were lumpy and the blanket under the comforter had hair on it as well. Overall about... more

We recently stayed here on our trip to Cape Lookout. My spouse and I know Morehead City pretty well, and so we knew we didn't want to be on the busy highway where it is pretty noisy. This hotel is set back from the main thoroughfare, and is in a pretty quiet location. Our room was pretty much standard--we had... more

In the area with friends and wanted clean, comfortable, safe, budget lodging. This motel meet all our needs. The man at the front desk (native of MC) was very helpful with suggestions about the area, extremely nice and professional. Room was basic but clean, 20" TV, bed comfortably firm, bathroom clean but older fixtures, continental breakfast very simple with donuts,... more

We stayed here because the web said they had internet but it was only in the lobby. Well, Jimmy, the great person they have at the front desk, moved our room to the one next to the lobby so we would have internet. Though this is a budget accommodation, and is not fancy, our room was very clean, everything worked... more

For a last minute trip to Atlantic Beach on Labor Day weekend we were hard-pressed to find decent rates anywhere that still had vacancy. Since we are "beach and boat" people, I figured we could go the affordable (i.e. cheap) route, since we would be spending little time in the hotel, and our options were limited. The Econo Lodge in... more

My Family and friends had a great stay at the Econo Lodge. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. I had heard that this hotel is under new management this summer and I can really see a difference. The front desk staff is very friendly and helped us with anything that we needed. With gas prices as high as they... more

We stayed at this motel this past summer and the motel was the WORST I have ever stayed. The room smell was horrible, excessive smoke, the room had mold on the walls, the air conditioner was so dirty inside, surprised it even worked. Upon contacting the motel management, they didn't seem to care about our complaints. SM more

This hotel needs a lot of renovations inside and out.....the room's carpet was extremely worn out and disgusting, roaches in the room, we were forced to stay in a smoking room without any warning stating that their non-smoking rooms were all booked, there were holes burned into the curtains and the bed spread. The hotel stopped having coffee for good... more
