We stayed at the Assembly Inn the last weekend of June 2014 two nights to attend the Hope Conference. They have just finished complete renovations of the Inn. This is a very old Inn and needed to be updated. We had a king room on the third floor. In the past the Inn was not air conditioned but it is... More

The room was very very small. The "extras" were a couple of bars of soap. No shampoo or hair dryer so I had to go without washing my hair for a ministry meeting. The bed had very scratchy sheets. They do have AC, but it is right over your bed and so it can get very cold. The hot water... More

Hi caribears! Firstly, thanks for staying with us, and thanks for your feedback. As you likely noticed, we have been undergoing significant renovations to our historic hotel. The Assembly Inn does not offer luxury accomodations. Its aim is provide accomodations for retreats, conferences, and people who are there for the mountains, not the motel room. We were on third floor and had a wonderful view from our window, so we didn't miss television. Beds were comfortable, and the food (included in the price for the conference) was... More

It was a family reunion for us. While Assembly Inn is old (they're currently raising money to renovate) even the snobbiest of travelers won't mind once you step outside...the grounds are amazing and for our 1- and 4-year-olds, it was heaven. We threw our son's bike in the car at the last minute and were so glad we did...he rode... More

If you are thinking of staying at the Assembly Inn, you should be aware of what it is: it is the conference hotel for the Presbyterian Church Retreat Center at Montreat. It is not luxyry accommodations by any means, there are neither phones nor television in the rooms. Wireless internet is limited to the common room of the hotel. But...the... More

Small rooms, functional but no more. Mattresses severely lacking. Shower water inconsistant. No A/C. Neat but somewhat dusty. Adequate for religious conference attendee but not much for the money otherwise. Family wedding listed as most convenient lodging. Felt I was overcharged for the style of accommodations.
