We were welcomed on arrival and made to feel at home. The room was clean and spacious and all the linen was spotless. Being on the 19 made getting around so easy. We visited the Smokey mountains to photgraph the many waterfalls, and the Abbey Inn had all the information we required, plus personal help and assistance for two Englanders... more

I found the Abbey Inn on the internet and looked up reviews on TripAdvisor. Since there are not many recent reviews I decided to write mine. My wife and I wanted a few days away in the mountains, and the Abbey Inn met out needs. My wife has to check into her e-mails a couple of times a day and... more

We stayed at the Abbey Inn in September. I found information on line and read reviews on Trip Advisor. The Inn is nothing fancy, quite old, like an old motor court. It's located on the side of a mountain. We were traveling with our little daschound, and they have several rooms you can stay with a small pet. The view... more

Motel is of the 50's era, it has been kept up fairly well. It sits in the side of a mountain about 2 miles above Maggie Valley. The mountains are spectacular! The temperature can be a cool 20 degrees cooler here compared to the valley. No air conditioning, didn't need it even in mid July. Local owners very nice people.... more

My husband and our two boys made a trip to Maggie Valley to take our boys to Ghost Town. I found the Abbey Inn online and it fit our budget. The room was clean, but a little musty and damp. It rained while we were there, so that may have been why it was damp. Our room had two double... more

My brother and I stayed here on a motorcycle trip that included the Blue Ridge Parkway. Abbey Inn is within two miles of the BRP and provided us a very pleasant stopping point one evening. The view is nice and the motel is close to the restaurants in Maggie Valley.....just a mile or two to town. The rooms were clean.... more

We found Abbey Inn by accident. We are glad we did and plan on going back next year. The view was breathtaking. The rooms were clean, neat, and comfortable. A real old fashion motor court. more

The rooms are small; there's no A/C; it's a 50's-retro feeling motor hotel -- but we just loved it, turning a two night intended stay into a four nighter -- and still hated to leave. What made it great for us: the elevation, cool temps, mountain views (you are just elevated over the roadway, so all you see are mountains);... more

After reading several reviews, I eagerly booked a night at the Abbey Inn, only to be disappointed. Their website makes them sound secluded; however, you are on a main road, and we could hear cars/trucks/motorcycles all night. We needed to have our windows open because they don't have AC, so we had to listen to the noise. The room was... more
