We stopped at the Alamo Motel & Cottages 1- to see Dawn & Mike & 2- because we now travel with a 60 lb + Portuguese Podengo. We were made welcome, & Molly, our new travelling companion, was royally received by Dawn & Mike. We have enjoyed visiting the Alamo every trip to Florida since they rescued me 2 yrs... More

We were quite pleased with the Alamo Motel & Cottages. Mike and Dawn were friendly and professional from the time we booked until the time we departed. They have really created a pleasant and charming atmosphere along a small babbling brook in Maggie Valley. We stayed in Cabin 14 for two nights. This cabin was cozy and there was just... More

I only stayed one night, but Mike and Dawn went above and beyond to make my stay great. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Forget the chain hotels, stay at this gem in Maggie Valley. I know I'll return.

We stayed at the Alamo in one of the cottages for a week. We rode in on our motorcycles with a group. We were greeted by Dawn & Mike immediately. They accommodated all of our needs. In fact, they became part of our extended family. They are probably the hardest working property owners I've ever seen. Rooms were clean &... More

A big thank you to Dawn, Mike and Gaston for the perfect weekend. No Place I'd Rather Be was just that. Our cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. 'Sir Luke' loved his chicken treats too!! Mike and Dawn really love their guests, give 100+% to make you feel at home - no worries. We can't wait for... More

My husband and I just stayed here and it was a very pleasant, quiet place to stay with our 2 dogs. Mike and Dawn really go out of their way to make your stay memorable. They were so helpful too in giving us recommendations for places to visit and restaurants also. The Best compliment I can give them is that... More

Mike and Dawn are the best, most caring owners I have ever encountered. My husband, parents, friends and I stayed for 5 nights and had a great experience. The cabins are very quaint but super clean and comfortable. My husband, parents and I stayed in the 3 bedroom/2 bath cabin and had plenty of hot water even with 4 of... More

So glad I get to follow a bad review. Folks, look at the pictures on their website. If you don't want quaint and charming then this place is not for you. Mike and Dawn are the greatest hosts ever! We had multiple plan changes and wound up having friends join us in our two bedroom cottage instead of our teenage... More

We stayed at the Alamo Motel in room 4, weekend of June 20, 2014. We have a small dog and they advertise pet friendly. At first glance, the room was clean and neat with (over powering) nice smell. However, don't go without shoes as the carpet was filthy! We had no hot water just luke warm after running 2 min.,... More
